Deck Primer

This is my take on a deck that can theoretically take 6 prize cards in one attack, on the first turn of the game. Will that ever actually happen? Probably not! With that being said, this pretty dumb concept all things considered, genuinely captivated me to see if I could push the boundries of this idea. Please to rip this deck to shreds if need be, because I'd like to make the "least terrible" version of this possible.

So, if you saw the first version my friend made ( https://pokemoncard.io/deck/take-5-more-prize-cards-not-my-deck-102378

So, if you saw the first version my friend made ( https://pokemoncard.io/deck/take-5-more-prize-cards-not-my-deck-102378 ), the strategy here is rougly the same. Pheromosa & Buzzwole-GX can attack for a measly 50 damage for a whopping eight energy cards. However, if you manage a KO with that attack, you get 3 additional prize cards! The most effective way to set up such an energy-heavy attack is to cheat with Mew. It can copy the attacks of your Basic Pokemon in play, and its a compatible target for Counter Energy. Said energy counts for 2 per card as long as you're behind on prizes.

The best (and only, really) acceleration engine for this deck is Electrode-GX, the supreme ruler of all things gimmicky in Expanded, and Alolan Raichu. You can knock it out to accelerate up to 5 energies from your discard pile to your pokemon in any way you'd like, so here you can get out all the Counter Energy you need at the same time as activating them.

Okay, you're ready to get at least a 4-prize KO, but you're probably not going to achieve anything while only dealing 50 damage. So, I have packed a bunch of different damage modifiers and damage counter placement methods to make life easier. The first of them is Iron Valiant ex with its Tachyon Bits ability. That ability places 2 damage counters on 1 of your opponent's Pokemon when it moves to the active spot, making for a maximum of 80 extra damage onto a selected target, bumping up Beat Game's effective damage to 130. You can increase it again by another twenty by combining one of your IV's with Scoop Up Cyclone, which both works as a switch if you pick up your Active Pokemon, and resets Tachyon Bits if used correctly.

The other things I'm using to increase damage are PlusPower to increase your damage by a maximum of 40, and Defiance Band to boost yourdamage by another 30. Now, assuming that you have absolutely immaculate luck and use every single damage boost this deck has to offer, you'll be hitting 220 damage, which is a very nice number to hit, since it OHKOs most basic V's, all supporting Rule Box Pokemon, and pretty much all prominent single prize Pokemon in this format.

For your best odds, try and target the afforementioned supporting double prize Pokemon, since they're very squishy compared to the prize cards they give out. Dedenne is probably the best of the three (or if you want to be technical about it, Squawkabilly ex despite it being far less common) with its very low HP total of 160. Counter Catcher works well because of how Electrode-GX will put you behind on prizes.

Great, assuming you got your KO on a single prizer, you took four prize cards, but the goal is six! Since there are literally no conditions in this game that let you take 5 extra prize cards initally (thank God there isn't lol), the best way to get more prizes has to be Jirachi Prism Star. If you take it as a prize and your bench isn't full, you can get an additional prize card!

If you get two prize cards to start, take 3 more from the bonus, and then trigger Jirachi Prism Star, you should win the game, but what if you're facing a single prize deck? Greedy Dice has the very inconsistent answer! It has Jirachi's gimmick, where if you take it as a prize card, you have the chance to get another, as long as you land a successful coin flip. So a 6-prize sweep on a single prizer is possible, I'd strongly advise against going for it if possible. Something to note about this, is that if you ever happen to start with it as your only basic, you will want to prioritize getting it out of play using Scoop Up Cyclone.

In order to rig your prize cards to get what you need where it should be, I have Rotom Dex, Arc Phone, and Reserved Ticket. Because this deck can't use any supporters other than Wally to get a turn one Electrode-GX, I can't run the best prize-setting option of Peonia. I also can't use Will to guaarantee a heads flip on Greedy Dice, either, so that sucks.

With all that I said, you can now see EXACTLY why this deck is really bad, even for gimmick standards. However, this is a funny concept my friend came up with and I wanted to see what I could do with an ultra-turbo version of this idea. If there's no way of making it work, I'll lean more into the Dialga VSTAR gimmick route and use more setup instead of speed. Enjoy!

Definitely an improvement. "least terrible" is an accurate statement.

Again I would recommend going slower. You only need to blow up 1 electrode so opponent only takes 2 free prizes, not 4. Thus, you can afford to go slower, let the opponent take a prize or two, and strike when the time is right.

You're treating expanded as if it is unlimited. You don't HAVE to donk. Donk really only works if you can win going first and with decent consistency. Honestly Alolan raichu is probably the only practical semi-Donk deck in expanded. And that was only because there was more than 4ish cards that worked absolutely perfect with each other, making it consistent.

Battle Compressor I'll bring it back to the drawing board then, this time a bit more defensive on the setup, but leads to a burst play on the golden turn. What good defensive options are there really for cases like this?

mmm It's not really getting it defensive, but more slowing it down and considering your options if you take it 2, 3, or even 4 turns. The nature of this archetype doesn't need to donk at all, since most donk decks are supposed to feed on the lack of pokemon in play, which this deck does not. The biggest problem is how desperate you are to do all that damage in one turn. You could very well do damage with another pokemon and scrap all of the extremely inconsistent damage boosts, which also eliminates the need for a "burst play" since then you lose the purpose of taking it slow in the first place. I'll let you think of the rest on your own.

Battle Compressor If I wanted to use another Pokémon, I definitely would have by now. However, the spirit of this deck is trying to make the most of Pheromosa & Buzzwole's GX attack to take a ton of prize cards in one swing. I'd imagine the for a first turn going first donk, it would use something like Iron Valiant and that Pecharunt. I can give that a shot while I think of new things for P&B.

You said the deck is rly bad so I'm not gonna say it again like I'm salting a wound. 😭🧂

Yes you can theoretically do 220 damage, but...

- you need to KO a double prizer. Your most common opponent, Dedenne GX. Probability they have one, estimated 50% (estimated any <220 double prizers, 70%)

- your first dmg modifier, Iron Valiant ex. probability that all 5 land, estimated 20%

- your next dmg modifier, pluspower. probablility that all 4 are drawn and used, estimated 80%

- your last dmg modifier, defiance band. probability that you successfully equip it, estimated 90%

- the probability that you won't brick along the way, estimated 70%

70% * 20% * 80% * 90% * 70% = 7.056%

Just fun to think abt how often gimmicks will work. But this isn't horrible for a crazy gimmick, around 7% success rate for a gimmick deck is most definitely not impossible, just... well... not optimal in the slightest, especially I went with upper bounds for my estimates, especially the bricking part.

But the deck sure is funny lmao. 😂

First, you forgot Greedy Dice (Steam Siege). And also there is a Chansey that does the same as Jirachi, so you actually don't need Greedy Dice (Steam Siege) in the first place. And yes this is stupidly funny.
