Deck Primer

A modified version of Tricky Gym's Alakazam ex deck.

Major changes include swapping the Bibarel line for a 2-2 line of PAR Xatu as well as 3 copies of Path to the Peak and a Counter Catcher. It also includes a Kadabra to make getting multiple Alakazam ex on the board a bit more consistent. Earthen Vessel is here as a contingency plan in case energy is limited or as a quick way to activate PAR Xatu's Clairvoyant Sense ability.

The most recent version of the deck is also partially inspired by Tord Reklev's Alakazam ex decklist featured on the official Pokémon website:

An addition under consideration is a PGO Snorlax, which has the potential to become a late game win condition if positioned correctly.

Would PoGo Snorlax work here? A Diancie could also work here.

Tangent I'm personally unconvinced that Diancie would make much of a difference here. It only affects basics, and I'm not sure how much the basics in this deck would benefit from Boss protection, etc. I'm very willing to reconsider if it goes well in testing.

PoGo Snorlax is a popular inclusion in similar decks. Maybe I'm just thinking about it in the wrong way, but I feel like it kinda defeats the purpose of attacking with Alakazam if you're trying to keep them in the active.

You are right, I'm just thinking about other types of stall decks.
