I'm back with another deck for the format that nobody plays!

I'm back with another deck for the format that nobody plays!

So, Unlimited has been filled with first turn win donk decks that make the format pretty lame. So why not combat that with a donk deck that actively prevents the opponent from operating theirs!

This deck only runs 7 basic Pokemon, 4 of which are Spiritomb. Its ability prevents both players from playing Trainer cards from their hands. An important thing to note is that all instances of pre-Black&White cards saying "Trainer" really mean "Item," since Trainer was the old term for Items back then, with supporters and stadiums being their own classes entirely. Every other Unlimited deck lives and dies by its Trainer cards, so if they have nothing to answer Spiritomb, they're cooked. This also comes with the benefit of allowing this deck to go second without losing on the spot, allowing for more leniency with its supporter cards.

Because you have no items cards to play for yourself, things will be tricky to start. You will have to prioitize finding Cessation Crystal, a card that turns off all Poke Powers and Poke Bodies if it's attached to the active Pokemon. This will play in your favour (temporarily), as it turns off Spiritomb's own ability during your turn, which turns off the item lock for yourself. Now you can attempt to execute your own donk strategy. Because you can't play items to search, you will be relying on looking for Guzma & Hala to search for it. Rich Energy also works as a temporary solution, as you can use it to retreat Spiritomb out of the active spot to something else to turn its ability off.

This deck wants to use Missing Clover to take all 6 of your Pirze Cards in a game, and they can be recycled infinitely via Porygon2, Scoop Up Net, Lysandre's Trump Card, and VS Seeker. In fact, this lets you play every card in your deck an unlimited number of times, so you don't need to worry about resource managemnet as much as you should! Clay isn't needed much in this deck, but it can draw you a butt-ton of cards, so it's useful for consistency. Because you can't discard cards from your deck to thin, Lost Blender is your best option, as it can permanently remove two cards from play, mainly things like excess Spiritombs that aren't needed anymore.

If you don't manage to get 6 Missing Clover swings in a turn, it's no biggie unlike other Unlimited decks. Instead, use cards like Field Blower to remove Cessation Crystal and Broken Time-Space to turn the item lock back on before passing your turn. From there, the opponent will still be stuck, and you can try again on your next turn! Happy trolling!

Lewis chai I'm glad you think so! Unlimited doesn't really have much going for it, so I'm trying to push the limits of what can be done in it!
