Have you experimented at all with Altaria EVS and Skwovet SV1 + Rapid or Single Strike Mustard? It always seems like it could be pretty good, but I'd be interested what you think about it.
Probably the best way to get Azul answers to questions is to listen to his podcast: Uncommon Energy. It is co-hosted by him and Chip Richee (idk if I spelled that right) and then if your questions are still unanswered email or tweet him. I would 100% recommend the podcast, every week I can't wait for Tuesday to roll around so the next episode comes out.
