Playstyle Overview

Utilize Arceus VSTAR to quickly accelerate Energy onto Machamp VMAX, then stack defensive buffs and damage-boosting cards to secure massive One-Hit KOs.

Early Game:

Secure Arceus V and Squawkabilly ex on your Bench on Turn 1. Then, use Squawk and Seize to discard trash-friendly cards (Fighting Energy or Grant) while digging for a Double Colorless Energy. Follow up by using the Star Birth VSTAR Power exclusively to grab cards that guarantee a Trinity Nova attack on Turn 2 (e.g., Arceus VSTAR + Double Colorless Energy or Brooklet Hill).

Mid Game:

Make sure Trinity Nova attaches Energy directly to Machamp VMAX. Do not attach Energy to Sandy Shocks ex with this attack. Attach Rocky Helmet to your Active Machamp VMAX as soon as possible. Remember, Machamp is protected by Stone Fighting Energy (-20 damage) and deals damage back via Rocky Helmet (+20 damage). This chip damage is crucial for setting up easier KOs on the following turn. If Machamp takes heavy damage (above 200), use Acerola to scoop it up or Guzma to switch while dragging out an opponent's weak target.

Finisher:

Unleash G-Max Chi Strike (240 damage). Activate Grant from the Trash (+30 damage) and ensure Martial Arts Dojo is active (+10 damage, or +40 if you are behind on Prize cards) to push your damage output up to 310. If the opponent tries to stall with a disruptive Stadium or Tool card, drop Megaton Blower (ACE SPEC) as your ultimate trump card to wipe out their defenses right before delivering the final blow.
