Deck Primer

Probably not the best way to play Archaludon ex, but it's still fun to play with.

Strategy: Like any other Poison Package/Box, go First. This will happen almost all the time as in this current format, going second is preferred for most decks. Anyways, on your First Turn, get out 1 Pecharunt, 1 Brute Bonnet, Squawkabilly ex, and other cards of your choice, whether that is 1 Duraludon, Latias ex, Iron Bundle, etc. all are good choices to get out for different reasons.

Latias gives your Pokémon Free Retreat (excluding Archaludon), Bundle provides Early Gust, and so on. Anyways, on this turn, you should try and use Carmine and Squawk and Sieze to find the cards you need such as Perilous Jungle, ABEC, and way to Pecharunt into the Active Spot. Finding these cards may seem too hard but Pokégear can search for Carmine and Nest Ball & Ultra Ball can find the Pokémon you need. Furthermore, there is a card that can help you find everything you need which is Secret Box, the ACE SPEC of choice which is the main engine of this deck as well. It can quite literally do anything for this deck, because it can find Carmine or a Supporter for the turn after, and Item Card to find something like Pecharunt, Latias, etc. a Tool Card such as ABEC for Brute Bonnet, and Perilous Jungle. Your goal is to Donk your Opponent on your First Turn if they have 1 Pokémon in play only. Though, if they have more than 1 or that Pokémon has over 80 HP, that's completely fine, because you can still set up your next turn for Archaludon ex. Anyways, while you do all of these, you should also get Metal Energies into the Discard Pile for your Future Archaludon ex to accelerate the Energy onto itself to start swinging with Metal Defender. Even if you go second, you gain access to Professor's Research which is much better than Carmine when not going first as it gets you 7 Cards instead of 5, you should also prioritize setting up for your Archaludon instead, but still going for the Poison Package part is still completely fine. Now after that First Turn, assuming you didn't Donk your Opponent, you should try and find Archaludon ex to start preparing to Attack with it, you should also keep a Metal Energy in hand so you can attack instantly when you find Archaludon. Also, since Brute Bonnet poisons both Active Pokémon, you can attach Binding Mochi onto Archaludon ex so Metal Defender can swing for 260 instead of 220 and with Poison Damage with Perilous Jungle, goes up to 290 or 270 if their Active is Poison (It does 270 total as well if Perilous Jungle isn't in play). Since Perilous Jungle effects Archaludon, you can move that damage off of Archaludon ex with Munkidori, which is really helpful as it can make taking KO's easier as well since it moves the damage onto your Opponent's Pokémon. Kieran gives you a Switch Option or allows Archaludon ex to deal an additional 30 Damage to Pokémon ex which is really helpful against Stage Two Decks. Turo's Scenario gives you a way to reset an Archaludon, and since it discards the Energy, you can get it back with Archaludon's Ability, Assemble Alloy, assuming you have another Duraludon. Iono is here for disruption, and Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex is an Endgame Attacker, which can help you win games at times. Well, that concludes the strategy section, so feel free to make any changes or to leave any suggestions!

CTC: The cards that I'd recommend to add will be sorted into a list with a brief description, if there are any cards here or any cards of your own ideas, cut out the cards you don't find useful in this deck, with that being said, here is the list:

- 1-2 Relicanth's - Gives an option for Archaludon ex to use Duraludon's Attack, Raging Hammer. This card is great in normal Archaludon ex decks and is quite good here as well.

- 2nd Squawkabilly ex - Provides more consistency for being able to pull off a Squawk and Seize, especially helpful if you prized a Squawk.

- 1 Mew ex - Gives more Draw Support and a free pivot.

- 1 Budew - Decent option to item-lock your Opponent if you're forced to go second.

- 4th Ultra Ball - More consistency, and allows you to find your Pokémon much easier, especially helpful for your First Turn and to get Metal Energies into the Discard Pile.

- 3rd Pokégear - Makes finding your Supporters more efficient.

- 7th Metal Energy - Gives better consistency for Metal Energy and makes the odds of having one in hand better.

There's not really much more cards I could suggest, so feel free to do whatever you wish with this deck and have a good day!

LimeLemon What would you say is the best way to Play this Deck ?

LimeLemon avatar

Bnt  The best way to play Archaludon ex is probably the standard version, as it runs cards like Relicanth, 2 Munkidori's, Team Rocket's Venture Bomb, Hero's Cape to make it Tankier which makes it an absolute Wall to try and take down, and when it survives a heavy hit, you can use Raging Hammer from Duraludon due to Relicanth in order to deal insanely high damage. It also has much more going on for it. It's also overal the best performing way to play Archaludon ex currently, which I will be making a deck for eventually. Though, Archaludon ex has quite a few variants and each are unique in their own ways.

Do you have a vague plan when to release the normal Archaludon Deck? (Sorry for the many questions :) )

LimeLemon avatar

Bnt  It'll probably release either this week or next week, and it's fine you're not asking too many questions.
