Beedrill ex w/ Hisuian Lilligant V

This build is specifically for the current Pokemon TCG Live (Beta) Expanded Format - June 2026

This is an easy deck and can do 330 damage by Turn 2. Going first is preferred.

*** First Turn: Bench the Basics ***

The deck runs Volbeat since you can use its Quick Sign attack on your first turn - even if you go first. It lets you bench two Basic Pokemon from your deck. These two Pokemon can be Weedle(s) and Hisuian Lilligant V.

Be comfortable discarding Evolution Pokemon you may have in your opening

Be comfortable discarding Evolution Pokemon you may have in your opening hand in order to find more Weedles. You have have Trainer cards like Sacred Ash and Night Stretchers that can help you recover discarded Pokemon.

Leave 1 or 2 bench spaces open for Crobat V or for Elusive Master Beedrill(s). You have ways of easily pulling off Elusive Master Beedrill's ability.

*** Second Turn: Use the VSTAR Power Ability and Attack ***

Use Hisuian Lilligant VSTAR's Star Perfume ability - along with any Ultra Balls, Net Balls, Quick Balls, or Evolution Incenses you have in hand - to put together the pieces you need to get 2-4 Beedrill into play.

If you have Peony in hand that is even better, since Peony (along with the VSTAR Power) pretty much guarantees you can get 3 Beedrill into play by Turn 2.

With 3 Beedrill in play, you can do 330 damage with Beedrill ex.

Peony is a very versatile card. It's a supporter that can help you set up in the early game. It can also be used in cases of emergencies.

Here are some combinations of Trainer cards you can get with Peony:

   - Net Ball & Evolution Incense: Net Ball for grass energy. Evolution Incense to get a Beedrill into play - Beedrill ex or Elusive Master Beedrill. If you decide to grab Beedrill ex, you may want to already have Oranguru on the bench, so that you don't end up bricking in the subsequent turns.

   - Net Ball & Night Stretcher: Net Ball for grass energy. If you discarded an Elusive Master Beedrill earlier in the game, you can use Night Stretcher (instead of Evolution Incense) to grab an Elusive Master Beedrill.

   - Forest of Vitality & Evolution Incense: Put the stadium into play. Grab Hisuian Lilligant VSTAR with Evolution Incense and evolve your Hisuian Lilligant V.

   - Forest of Vitality & Night Stretcher: Put the stadium into play. If you discarded a Hisuian Lilligant VSTAR or an Elusive Master Beedrill earlier in the game, you can use Night Stretcher (instead of Evolution Incense) to grab the Pokemon.
