brock's sandslash's Needles can potentially trap opponent into poison for one turn, and then you follow up with sandstorm the next. Ideally you have stacked a couple dark dugtrios at this point and you have a poisoned opponent who has to win a coin flip to attack you or potentially take 20+ damage upon a retreat to shed these conditions. 
Low energy investment all around, and Hitmontop is a solid basic to round out the deck who
