Exeggutor ex has amazing qualities that made it one of the prime type Pokémon during the Genetic Apex format. This variant leverages Exeggutor ex’s hefty bulk and early damage output to handle faster decks like Pikachu ex while setting up Celebi ex or evolving the Snivy line into Serperior.

Exeggutor ex’s high retreat cost is less of an issue thanks to Serperior’s Jungle Totem, which makes retreating cheaper by doubling Energy. Combined with X Speed, it can retreat with just one energy, just in time to deny your opponent points.

This variant often includes 2 Erika, making it even harder for your opponent to claim points. Adding the early game control element that the base engine tends to lack, this variant is one of the most promising in the early Mythical Island meta.

Players are also experimenting with the new Exeggutor from Mythical Island. Although energy-hungry, its Psychic attack can one-shot many charged Pokémon such as Pikachu ex, Wigglytuff ex, and opposing Celebi when Serperior doubles their energy.
