Chookling, thank you for the idea of making a celebi vmax deck!

The goal of this deck is kind of stretchy. There are many ways you could play it, but the main is to get out celebi v first of all. If you can get celebi v fron sword and shield base set out first turn, that would help you a lot. If you do get it out, there are many ways you can use it.

But all of them have to do with using find a friend the first turn you get it out so that is what you want to do. With it's attack you can search your deck for two of any pokemon and put them in your hand, which is incredibly useful. With it, you could search for lilleep if you have twist mountain, you could get turtwig and grotle to start searching for pokemon even more without having to end your turn, you could get celebi Vmax to do damage, you could grab cherubi and cherrim for if you are fighting a fire type deck or if you have a lot of energies to play.

Once you have celebi v in play you may want to evolve it and begin getting more pokemon. Your main goal when this happens is to get cradilly and sky field and get a lot of stage two pokemon out. These are the pokemon and their points.

Beedrill to counter charizard and lugia vstar decks that need special energies to be their most powerful.

Rillaboom for more energy acceleration and better cradilly

Shiftry for countering a lot of supporters which some decks rely on.

Torterra for doing a lot of damage, especially if you can get sky field and use celebi or cradily to get a lot of evolution pokemon out, and with the current evolving mechanic to get out most exs.

Venesaur and Rillaboom make it so you can attack with expensive attackers like rillaboom and torterra in one turn because of Venasaurs jungle totem ability and Rillaboom's voltage beat, making it so that you can have a counting of 4 energies in one turn. Plus venasaur helps if you are low on energies because it makes a single one count, for example you could do Celebi Vmaxes attack for 1 energy if that is the last energy in your deck or whatever. It can really help you out of a tough situation. Remeber though, venasaur is limited to basic energies with its ability, but rilaboom is not.

Now for the other cards.

Cherrim is used if you are fighting a fire type deck and need to have a way to make yourself even. Even though fire type is not very popular right now, I personally think that it is one of the best types and could be a real problem. As mentioned earlier, the other cherim is used if you need to play energies from your hand and don't have the right celebi v for the job.

Cradily is one of the most important cards for the deck, and can pretty much get you stage 2s until you run out of bench space. You will have to use a lot of stadiums for it to work, so be careful. First I would play twist mountain to get out lileep, then evolve it and attach energies, then play sky field for extra bench space, then use it's attack to get out the stage 2s mentioned earlier.

Celebi vs are used either as energy acceleration, or for getting the poekmon that you need.

Celebi Vmax is used for a few things. 1, healing. If you have a few on your bench, not only do they count for torterra damage, but they heal your active pokemon so that it may take the opponent a while. I am pretty sure that you can stack the ability if you have multiple and so that can be up to 60 damage healed per turn. 2, getting the pokemon you need. It does pracacilly the same thing as its basic, celebi v, but this time it does damage. I went into an extensive list of the things you can do with this earlier, along with my opinions on what you should do.

Grotle is a nice way to get pokemon that you need, because even though it only grabs 1 pokemon and it is limited to grass type, Unlike celebi V and Vmax, you can do it on your turn.

Manaphy is just amazing, and that is why everyone plays it. Stopping bench damage can often save you from a lot of decks.

Blastoise, I suppose, is optional. You could definately swap it out for something, but remember it is not limited to basic energies with its ability, and it is a stage two that you can get with cragily and wowee is it a good one. Its ability is something any deck can use, and that paired up with venasaur could get you the equivalent of 12 energies out with the price of ending your turn before you attack. Sounds pretty fair, giving your opponent a chance before you win.

Now for the trainers.

Twist mountain's one and only point is to get out lileep so that you can evolve it into cradily.

Sky field is helpful for the extra bench space so that you can have many abilities active, also so that cradily can get you more stage 2s, and for torterra, who does 50 more damage for each evolution pokemon YOU have in play that you have, dealing up to  450 damage if you have all evolution pokemon on your bench with sky field. (It also counts itself)

Life forest is for if you have an active pokemon with low life or if you are fighting a shock lock, poison, or eternal burn deck. Plus the only way to get rid of it is for your opponent to play another stadium or use an attack to destroy a stadium.

Lady is a good card to pair up with cherrim, Venasaur or celebi v, making it so that you can search your deck for 4 basic energies, which is always helpful. Celebi v and cherrim let you play the energies very quickly, while venesaur makes the energies count for extra.

The point of cynthia is because you have a lot of stage 2s that you cannot play unless they are in the deck. So, if you have cynthia, you can shuffle them into the deck and play them with cradily.

net ball is pretty much just a useful card for a grass type deck. I thought it was better than it really was though so I got some adventurer's discoveries, which is really all you need.

Turfield stadium can help you with getting celebi Vmax, Grotle, or torterra. That is practically it so that is why there is only one.

Since this deck relies havily on stadiums I put a few stadium navs in to get those cards.

Adventurer's discovery is a very usefull begining game card if you do not start with celebi v, because you can grab each of the celebi vs and a vmax which can be very helpful.

Herbal energy was just fun, healing your pokemon was just an added bonus. But remeber beedrills and cards like that. You can get special energies with a lot of cards including blastoise, rillaboom, and you can attach them with celebi v. But some cards don't effect it like venasaur.

same for aromatic grass energy exept that this one doesn't heal, instead it counters shock lock(paralyze), poison, burn, and all of those sort of things.

More cards you can add and upgrades to the deck:

More of any card

More power! This deck is lacking in high damage. Think about adding more torterras, hisuian liligant vstar and cards like that.

Surperior vstar is pretty good too.

Wo-chien ex is good for power too, it can knock out practically anything in two hits.

More consistancy! Even though this deck is all about consistancy, you can always have more. Think about adding cards that will get you supporters or celebi v, like more net balls and evolution incense.

If you were playing this deck in unlimited format you may want to add forest of giant plants because that would make celebi vmax extremally powerful. You would also have to change the deck quite a bit though.

Anyways there are tons of good grass type pokemon and so much more that this deck can do, I just cant think of it off the top of my head.

Hope you like the deck!

You're running way too many grass type pokemon here and very little trainer cards to make this deck flow right.

NEEETH avatar

too many random lines of pokemon, not enough trainers, too many energies.

Nice idea but it needs improvement

Adamantite avatar

Yeah gotta agree with you there. Have you got any suggestions?

NEEETH avatar

I think there are too many 1-ofs. Shiftry for example is a gimmick that's annoying, but not useful for this deck. Also, cradily is great but its hard to set up quick, more so because u dont play rare candy AND setting up lileep is based on a coin flip. No offense but I liked Chookling's list better. My advice is to cut down on the stage 2 lines and 1-of grass Pokemon can run consistency trainers instead.

Adamantite avatar

Yeaah I dunno why chookling was saying that their deck was so bad
