Deck Primer

This deck's win condition is pretty straightforward: get Centiskorch on field with 4 energies as soon as possible.
This is enabled by Moltres, who can with average luck on Inferno Dance (I.e. 1.5 energy per turn) bring a fully operational Centiskorch on field as early as turn 3 (without counting opponent turns) with X Speed, turn 4 otherwise. This is way faster than Charizard Ex, while also being more consistent thanks to Centiskorch not being a Stage 2. I think it is also important to compare both

I think it is also important to compare both those Pokémon to see why you'd run one over the other:

- Centiskorch is faster and more consistent to setup, only requiring one evolution.

- Charizard Ex and Centiskorch both have the same average DPT being 130.

- Centiskorch gives a single point to your opponent, while Charizard Ex gives two.

Overall I personally think that Centiskorch has a lot to offer, even in a metagame with Charizard Ex in it, it is also a way cheaper alternative.

Now, for the actual setup: ALWAYS try to have Moltres Ex in the active slot as soon as possible, it is mandatory for the deck not to crumble. This can be achieved via Trainers like Pokéball, Prof Chen and most importantly X Speed, to get Sizzlipede to bench for free without wasting a Inferno Dance turn. Don't hesitate to set a second basic Pokémon on your bench while powering up your Centiskorch, as it'll act as a Sabrina protection. Once you're ready to swing, simply retreat Moltres Ex and watch your silly bug OHKO almost every Meta Relevant Pokémon.

I said almost, as there is a Pokémon Centiskorch doesn't OHKO even with Giovanni support, this being Mewtwo Ex. You might want to setup 3 energies on Moltres Ex to chip the Mewtwo before Centiskorch comes in, and keep a Sabrina to clean up once you killed one of the Mewtwo. It's not an impossible MU by any mean, but you definitely need to play it carefully and not draw too poorly. Outside of that, Centiskorch matches up fairly well against most decks, excluding a lucky Articuno/Misty. The ability to OHKO both Pikachu Ex and Zapdos Ex with Giovanni support makes said MU surprisingly easy, even though Moltres' weakness might seem like an handicap, Pikachu Ex never OHKO's it anyway.

To conclude, I'd say this deck is a lot of fun to play as and can definitely tear through a lot of meta relevant decks with the proper pilot.

LOVE this deck. It's my first actually constistent deck I built. I play 1 red card and 1 hand scope so I can see what they've got going on when I red card them.
