Deck Primer

A deck that fell off but is slowly rising again in Destined Rivals.

Strategy: I'd recommend going second with this deck to prevent yourself from being item-locked by cards such as Budew. Anyways, for your First Turn, try to get out 2 Charmander's, 1-2 Duskull's, 1-2 Pidgey's, and Shaymin if your playing against a deck with Rulebox Pokémon to protect your Benched Non-Rulebox Pidgey's, Charmander's, etc. Shaymin is quite helpful in this deck since you can protect your Pokémon before you

Shaymin is quite helpful in this deck since you can protect your Pokémon before you evolve them, the only downside is it has 80 HP so it needs Nest Ball or Ultra Ball to get it out. Anyways, one major important thing about Zard decks is sequencing, being able to sequence things properly is really useful. An example of this would be, you have 2 Rare Candies in Hand and an Ultra Ball along with other cards, so when you use Ultra Ball, instead of trying to get Zard out right away, instead get Pidgeot ex as you still would have another Rare Candy in hand so you could then use Quick Search to get out Zard from your deck into your hand which allows you to get both main Pokémon out into play. Anyways, back onto the strategy, if you're going second, attempt to use TM: Evolution or Grasping Draw in order to get up to 7 Cards in hand. Now for the ACE SPEC of choice, Maximum Belt, I personally find this the best option for Zard as you can take more KO's a lot more efficiently especially against decks like Pult but there are other great ACE SPEC's you could use in Zard which will be mentioned in CTC. Now for Tech Cards, they'll be listed with a brief explanation:

- Chi-yu - A good single prize attacker that can help against cards like Cornerstone, Crustle, Mimikyu but is overall a backup Attacker after Zard is KO'd. This card can deal 180 Damage if a Pokémon was knocked out during your Opponent's turn which can finish some Pokémon off and can be quite helpful.

- Shaymin - Since the release of Destined Rivals, this card has been really helpful in these types of decks because your Benched Pokémon without a Rulebox can be protected from your Opponent's Pokémon with a Rulebox so your Charmander's and Pidgey's will be a bit safer but it doesn't block Damage Counters.

- 60 HP Charmander - The purpose of this card is to just have an option to OHKO Budew or Cleffa to stop their Early Game stall with Itchy Pollen or to stop Early Draw Support.

- 60 HP Pidgey - Kind of a Tech Card but not really, it's just here to survive a Cursed Blast from a Dusclops so they don't take a free prize from you.

- 100 HP Charmeleon - Another option for a single prize Attacker that's not probably going to be used oftenly as one, it's just better off as one in the Early Game.

- Briar - To help take an additional prize that can help you win games when your Opponent has 2 Prizes remaining.

Now back to the remaining of the strategy, Jacq allows you to get out your Evolution Pokémon if Budew has currently item-locked you and can combo into TM: Evolution if you happen to have that in hand. Defiance Band is another good card in Zard decks since you can do an extra 30 damage when you're behind on Prizes which furthers Zard's damage. Super Rod is great at recovering your cards especially Energy. That's all I have to say for the strategy so feel free to make any changes or to leave any suggestions!

CTC: There are many great cards you could choose from to add into this deck so I'll make a list with a brief description of them:

- Gouging Fire ex - Great Backup Attacker and helps against Cornestone Ogerpon ex since most of your Pokémon can't damage it.

- Budew - Another good option in the Early Game to item-lock your Opponent.

- 3rd 70 HP Charmander - Generally recommend to use this instead of the 60 HP variant but I personally prefer having one 60 HP Charmander like I explained earlier.

- Rellor and Rabsca - Great Bench Barrier option but does get KO'd pretty easily, especially when it's a Rellor still.

- Munkidori & Darkness Energy -Great way to move Damage off of your Pokémon and to move onto your Opponent's.

- Turo's Scenario - Great way to reset your Zard's damage to prevent a KO for your Opponent.

- Brock's Scouting - A great way to get Basic Pokémon or an Evolution Pokémon out when under an item-lock.

- 2nd TM: Evolution - Provides an overall better consistency along with another way to get more Evolution Pokémon out.

- Unfair Stamp - Great disruption card and may be better than Maximum Belt in many scenarios.

- Precious Trolley - A great way to get your board set up.

- Grand Tree - Great way to evolve your Pokémon really quickly but does negate Zard's Ability since it requires Zard to evolve from hand.

- Prime Catcher - Great gusting option and can pull off insane combinations in a match.

- Hero's Cape - Makes your Zard more tanky overall which also makes it harder to KO.

- Jamming Tower - Shuts off both Pokémon's Tools but I wouldn't recommend using it if you're playing Maximum Belt or Hero's Cape.

Now if you're adding in one of these stadium options being Jamming Tower or Grand Tree, just simply cut an Artazon. If you're adding in the 3rd 70 HP Charmander, cut out the 60 HP variant. To add in Turo's Scenario and something else, you can cut the 100 HP Charmeleon and a Zard since it's typically a 3-1-2 Line.

Edits:

Edit #1: Finished the description, cut a Fire Energy, 1 TM: Evolution, and Unfair Stamp. They've been replaced with Maximum Belt, a 3rd Zard, and the 100 HP Charmeleon.

The description will be added shortly.

The description has been fully finished, and it's a lot shorter compared to the Joltik Box and Gardy decks I've made for Destined Rivals.

LimeLemon You should make another ZardPult build it's been doing pretty well in Destined Rivals.

Waffle Enthusiast That has been planned on being made so you can expect to see it soon.
