INTRO

This deck started out as a simple centiskorch vmax deck that I designed years back before I knew about this website. That deck was what got me into pokemon again a lot and that was when I began to increase my knowledge about pokemon. I had just gotten out of MTG and was looking for a new card game to play and I remembered the card game of my youth: pokemon. I used to have an amazing pokemon ccard collection including a 200 dollar charizard and a bunch of crazy stuff, but I gave it all away

I used to have an amazing pokemon ccard collection including a 200 dollar charizard and a bunch of crazy stuff, but I gave it all away to a friend and quit the card game after realizing how bad it was. After that I don't know why but I was mad at pokemon for years. Probably my brother just crushed me every time so I got depressed and quit.

The old version of this deck 1.0 to 2.0 were based around centiscorch vmax, which I was trying to prove to be a powerful pokemon. I realized though that there were far better cards to use and so began rapidly making fire rotation decks and editing other ones. I gave the old deck to one of my close relatives and then continued helping him edit it therefore creating decks 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 2.0 and 2.1. Then last night at around 11:00 I got the amazing idea to make a charizard Vmax deck with one of my favorite cards: Kiawe. Then I began this deck.

The Deck

I decided to design this deck to be a 2 turn deck (meaning that you should have the basic strategy set up within your first 2 turns). You can go first and second, either way (hopefully) will turn out fine for you. It just depends on your hand.

The first goal you should have is to get out charizard vmax as quickly as you can. Charizard v and vmax are truly all that matters and so just focus on it at first. You need at least an evolution incense or jacq, and a nest ball.

Next what you truly need is Kiawe and an energy. Play kiawe and search for 4 fire energies (2 of them must be burning energies in order to achieve maximum power)and attach them to charizard. then if you have another energy in your hand play that and he will have five energies.

If you cannot get kiawe then you can use the blaziken and emboar strat or any of the other energy acceleration cards. You may want to add another kiawe because he is really quite important.

Ninetales and max potion are for dangerous circumstances. If you ever have a vmax about to be knocked out, swap him out, heal him, or discard him from play. NEVER let your opponent knock them out or you will have a lot of trouble. If you want you can add a card to discard him like volo or something  but I just stuck with the max potion because who wants to waste a vmax that does 300 damage?

Chi-yu ex I am not sure about, but it is a pretty good energy acceleration card that works for 3 cards at once. It also deals an okay amout of damage for a second turn hit card.

Rare candy is for if you ever want to get out blaziken and emboar but you don't have the stage 1 (a problem I too often have). It is not required for the strategy for this fire rotation deck unlike the last versions where I completely relied on the stage 2s. YOu cann also get these evolutionary lines with evolution incense and jacq and stuff but then you're using those on them instead of the most important charizard Vmax.

Giant hearth is another card that is absolutely perfect for a fire rotation deck. Not only is it energy consistancy turnly, but you can use it to get an energy into the discard for Blaziken or whatever you would like. You can also instantly attach the energies with emboar, or, if you add it, welder or something.

Alter of the sunne, Max potion and lysandre's trump card are all last muinete saving graces. I feel like water decks are far too common these days and so fire decks are always in danger for fire only ever has 1 weakness. Max potion I beleive I explained earlier. When I told my relative that Lysandre's trump card was banned, he told me that " When did I ever care about the banlist?" And I ended up adding it.

Burning energy is perfect for charizard because if you get two on, they will return back to him every turn, therefore allowing you to attack for 300 damage every turn once you get the required other energiesss attacked which should be possible thanks to kiawe.

I am pretty sure that kiawe lets you search for burning energies because it didn't specify basic fire energies and tecchinately burning energy is still a fire energy. If you think otherwise, comment it.

Other cards you may want

-Radiant heatran is an amazing powerhouse

Arcanine ex (Scarlet & Violet) is a great powerhouse and can change out for charizard

Welder (Unbroken Bonds)  is another energy accelerator

Heatmor (Fusion Strike)  very powerfull. Can be countered by manaphy so beware

Fire crystal if you don't get the Burning energies that you need and therefore discard. Also good for giant hearth and things like that.

Penny/Volo/scoop up net/anything that discards a pokemon or returns one to your hand: STOP CHARIZARD FROM BEING KNOCKED OUT or kill him yourself.

More or less of any of the cards, fit to how you want it.

There are a lot more cards but none from straight off the top off my head. Maybe lady if you can get out emboar....

Close

So pretty much the strategy is just get out charizard, get kiawe and boost charizard up, have 2 burning energies atachedd to charizard, attack for 300 damage every turn and keep charizard from dying. BE UNSTOPPABLE

Hope you like the deck!

I really like all the detail and work you've put into this deck! However, unfortunately a lot of these cards are not in standard rotation, and Lysandre's Trump Card is banned in the expanded format, which is why this site has this deck listed as an unlimited deck.

Yes I usually play in unlimited format but you're right. That would be nice if there was a standard format version of this deck. I will have to make that!

Adamantite avatar

I would try to make it in standard format and probably will but that will be hard considering the main kiawe strategy and the fact that emboar is out of standard..

AND charizard vmax for that matter.
