Why is gravity mountain there isn't it just nerfing you? Also sorry if I sound stupid I haven't played this game in a bit

DerpyPheasant  it doesn't matter that it nerfs you because Conkeldurr will always get knocked out after attacking. So the -30 HP is irrelevant. What matters is that it drops Dragapult's HP to 290 for an instant knock out with Binding Mochi and it drops Charizard down to 300 for a knock out on check up with poison after hitting it for 290 with Mochi.

 

So if you didn't use Gravity Mountain, you would hit them for 290, poison would hit for 10 during check up and they would survive to knock out your Conkeldurr (because Charizard hits for 180 and Dragapult hits for 200). Giving them a free prize in exchange for nothing. But if you use Gravity Mountain, you get the knock out on a 2 Prizer and even if they knock you out next turn, you win the trade.
