Deck Primer

This deck revolves around getting a Torterra set up as quickly and consistently as possible while using Sawsbuck to consistently find Neutralization Zone.

*Can definitely build this deck much cheaper but I bought all the cool cards on live.

I prefer to go 2nd with this deck so I can use LilligantV's attack, Arvin's, Iono's, and TM evos turn one which contribute to acceleration of your board and consistency.

I prefer to go 2nd with this deck so I can use LilligantV's attack, Arvin's, Iono's, and TM evos turn one which contribute to acceleration of your board and consistency.

First goal: Getting Grotle or Hisuian LilligantVStar in play. Grotle searches for HLilligantV and VStar if you don't have them. HLilligantVStar accelerates your board into late game by searching for your other Pokemon and at least 2 energies if you need it. Perfect if you have both in the first 2 turns. LilligantV/VStar are ideal to have in the active at this time because they are dispensible after you use VStar power and they also have the most HP to survive the first attacks. If hand is dead its possible LilligantV can draw what you need with her attack. You can ultra ball for what you need using some copies of pokemon such as Sawsbuck, LillgantV, and LillgantVStar. Possibly even Grotle or Torterra if you can super rod them back.

Second goal: Setting up the board with HLilligantVStar. Perfect board would be HLilligantVstar, 4 Grotles, 1 Sawsbuck. Will vary depending on whats prized and matchup. Can still achieve mostly this board with just Grotles but its a turn or 2 slower but sometimes necessary in some matchups like vs. Iron Thorns which blocks HLilligantVStars ability.

You want to have an active Torterra with 2 energies and heavy baton. If HLilligantVStar is in active there are several ways to retreat her. If she used TM evo she already has an energy attached, use Sawsbuck to search for Town Store and use Rescue Board to retreat her, or if needed use Switch.

Third Goal (Final board late game): Torterra with most likely be able to attack with 250 damage sometimes 300. This takes out most threats especially Charizard and Roaring moon easily. When trading attacks you should be able to cycle at least 3 Torterras using Heavy Baton. Goal is to be just as strong as ex Pokemon but being single prize.

To solidify this strategy you can consistently find Neutralization Zone whenever you want to. Need to consider when to play it if opponents have Lost Vacuums or other stadiums but this card is extremely powerful. Can sometimes win you the game by itself if opponent seems to have no answer.

This deck struggles more vs other single prize decks. Vs. other single prize decks need to be more mindful of energy usage and super rod usage in order to play for the long run.

Techs: I really like the Scatterbug/Spewpa Combo for some immediate +50 damage after a knock out on your Pokemon. Always hold these cards in your hand until you need to take out a 280-300 HP crucial Pokemon such as Pidgeot ex. Sometimes even if you cannot one shot an ex pokemon, Neutralization Zone can buy you another turn.
