In my opinion, I would put more psychic and iron energies
nintendista Maybe. That is def a valid suggestion, I can see pros and cons for both, but I went for 1 of each because we are using Hydreigon's first attack primarily and rly only need to use the second one it one time per match and for 1 Hydreigon. Crystal also covers consistency. With crispin and Vessel, I doubt finding energy will be an issue. I didn't want excess energy clogging up the deck where there could be dark energy instead. Rod also cycles well for Pidgeot.
thx for advice though! 🥰
I would cut one deino for a fez, just to have some extra draw. Then i'll cut the pal pad and maybe a rod (not sure for the rod) to add one psychic and metal energy. Lastly i would like to put a toro scenario, just to pick up luminion or rotom up so they can't boss them up for 2 prize card, but i don't know what to take out (maybe a iono?)
Thanks for the advice TheDocCat ! ❤️
Most of those are valid suggestions, but are so subjective that I won't make those changes here, but I can see why you'd use them. Turo is prob the objective decision bc of how versatile Pidgeot is supposed to be. Thanks!
4 Dieno is needed bc it's the ideal opening pokemon so you want as many as possible.
Pal pad and rod are both integral choices in Pidgeot ex bc with consistent deck searching, the only thing you're lacking is resources, which pal pad and rod can supply. Adding more psychic and steel energy will hurt consistency more than it benefits it.
Fez is a valid suggestion, I'll try to make space some other way. Thanks!
If you think I'm wrong with my reasoning or smth don't hesitate to comment again! 🥰
What do you think about a radiant greninja? It would have synerge with the dark patches but i'm not sure about it
TheDocCat Yeah, you could. It's most certainly a valid play, just like you reasoned. It's just prob not a needed play, as you have other cards that can discard cards from your hand including a full playset of ultra and 2 vessels. Drawing also isn't integral bc the deck relies on searching for consistency. However you could also make the argument that you don't need to sacrifice much for a RGreninja and the benefits of it can pull its own weight in your deck.
Yeah so overall, a whole lotta yap but yes, it's good. 👍
What about janine's secret art? it could proc the poison for the mochi and give energies. Btw this decklist is pretty good and all your comments are really helpful, so i thank you for all of them
TheDocCat Yeah thx for the suggestions again,
I originally had Janine instead of crispin, but I realized that Pecharunt is just so redundant with Janine that I'd rather have the extra energy search over Janine. HOWEVER, now that I have neo upper instead of sparkling crystal, I have less of a need to search for steel and psychic energy, so I might actually go back to Janine, thx for the reminder! ❤️
Can i ask you why you put the neo upper inster of crystal? The crystal is searchable with arven, isn't it just better?
TheDocCat neo upper might not be easily searched, but with Pidgeot and FSS, it's not crazy difficult to search for.
And overall, crystal is worse for a couple reasons.
- Worse versatility. It can count for only 1 energy while neo upper covers both psychic and steel so that you only need dark energy which is easy to accelerate.
- Now you don't have to care about psychic and steel energy much at all. Which is why I can afford to put only 1 of each.
- Overlap with Mochi. You legit cannot OHKO any stage 2 rule boxes but support pokemon like Lumin, Rotom, and Squak without mochi.
HOWEVER
If your goal is to use the first attack as consistently as possible, then Crystal is still better. For the exact reason you noted.
Siegislash what do you think about the new terapagos? It's viable or just nah?
TheDocCat I mean, it's most certainly usable, but I'd hesitate to say that it's viable in most cases, since most energy acceleration attacks are outclassed by tm turbo energize, with few exceptions of course.
