Deck Primer

This is a cheeky little deck I made for fun. The main inspiration for this deck was Mega Darkrai ex. When I saw his second attack, I instantly thought he could be used in conjunction with the Hypnotoxic Laser card from the old Team Plasma era. This isn't technically allowed in pro Pokemon gameplay, but I only made this deck to play against my friend privately.

This is a cheeky little deck I made for fun. The main inspiration for this deck was Mega Darkrai ex. When I saw his second attack, I instantly thought he could be used in conjunction with the Hypnotoxic Laser card from the old Team Plasma era. This isn't technically allowed in pro Pokemon gameplay, but I only made this deck to play against my friend privately. 

Using Mega Darkrai ex with Hypnotoxic Laser is therefore the main idea in this deck. The other Pokemon are there either to support or provide equally powerful attacking strategies for backup. Roaring Moon ex + Protection cube is a very cheeky combination, one that definitely should not be allowed (it's basically a free knockout). Okidogi ex, Mega Absol ex and Absol ex are also key attackers, providing firepower if Roaring Moon/Mega Darkrai are unavailable, and Fezandipiti ex provides some useful support with his ability, while also having a strong attack as well.

Munkidori and Absol are meant to sit on the bench and provide support with their powerful abilities, though I've thrown in a couple rainbow energies in the rare case that Munkidori needs to attack (ie if he is the only Pokemon remaining at a time). Finally, the Gengar line is there to provide both support and some extra firepower that can be used without sacrificing 2 or 3 prize cards in the event of a knock-out.

This deck relies heavily on having certain key Pokemon and Trainers when they are needed, so I've included plenty of cards like Professor's Research, Shauna and Professor's Letter to make sure that the right cards can be found at any given time, while Night Stretcher, Energy Recycler and Super Rod can bring back Energy or Pokemon lost to the discard pile. The deck doesn't really rely on healing, but I've thrown in some Super Potions and one Pokemon Center Lady in case healing is mandatory. Finally, Dark City can be used as a stadium to allow for free retreating for the main attackers in the deck and Black Market lightens the Prize Card sacrifice for the heavy hitters.
