META level strength? Maybe. still haven't tested this yet against other META decks. On paper. Salazzle dishes out consistent 300 dmg with no modifiers and just butterfree. Which is crazy easy to set up with Caterpie and Metapod's built in forest of the giant plants. Suggestions are welcome obviously since this isn't tested a lot yet lmao.

META decks in expanded have about 280 HP which is easily OHKOed by salazzle which takes virtually no effort to do. Only 1 energy is needed, needs a relatively easy to meet condition, and is easily replicated. This in theory should be able to amount to the expanded META.

2 blower is necessary bc the Garbodor matchup is unwinnable.

Ori and Fez help greatly facing anything other than ADP

Mew is integral with the Alolan Raichu META.

Hypnotoxic laser is an attempt for single prize matchup coverage.

Aroma? Honestly idk any ideas on what other ace to use?

The damage mods are for Mew or any other 300+ HP matchups.

Please tell me your suggestions bc there I feel there are certainly things I overlooked.

Have fun! 🥰

Alright, when looking at this, it's pretty strange. It looklike everything is there when it comes to making the strategy, but it seems to be missing one component to make it all click. Unfortunately, I'm too blind to know what that one component is.

What I have noticed is that you currently have no way to search for your OriFez core reliably, which could be disastrous if your opponent gains an early upper hand. You could afford to switch your ACE SPEC for the ol' reliable Computer Search, but I can see where Hyper Aroma can come in extremely useful. A cheeky Wally could be used if you feel funny, because it can be used as a surprise tool to get a turn one big swing, mainly if the opponent doesn't suspect it and has something like ADP at the forefront. You could also use it to bring out a Metapod if you don't have on in hand so you can keep going to Butterfree. However, it's niche and you probably don't want to compromise the overall consistency for those small instances.

Back to the draw engine, you don't have much outside of your main supporters and the two Pokémon which only activate on KO's. Because of that, it might end up being very clunky if you have a poor start and the opponent doesn't cooperate. I'd imagine that once they know you're in a tight spot, they won't mindlessly attack and take KO's when they can continue to freely set up and secure future turns. This also isn't helped if they already know that OriFez and Teammates are cards that this deck lives and dies on.

For a potential fix, I may have a drastic solution, but a revamp of the acceleration engine might be useful. What I'd suggest is to switch to Welder and Fire energies, with it being the most effective draw and attach supporter in the format, fully setting up a Salazzle and getting cards in the process. You may also be able to use the other Salazzle with Roast Reveal, acting as a more reliable draw engine. It can even be synergized with Devolution Spray to switch back to the attacking Salazzle when ready. And if you want to really go all in on the fire draw package, you have Heat Factory, Giant Hearth, and Fire Crystal. Yeah, fire is probably the strongest package of a type Expanded has to offer.

So yeah! I hope some of these pointers help you out in your pursuit! I tend to work better when presented with an outline to improve on than make my own fully unique decks. Have fun!

Thanks for all the thoughtful advice CountyGibbon798 ! ❤️

Funny how you mention Fez and Ori as the core bc I was actually thinking of removing them to make the deck single prize so I can be less reluctant when giving away free prizes bc Fez and Ori caused more trouble than they helped when testing. The deck does look a lot cleaner and also "solves" the issue of having no way to effectively search for them. HOWEVER, I could go for the polar opposite and go full double prize with dedenne and the others to maximize consistency which is what the deck is lacking the most. Then again, relying on the supporters posed little issue so idk, I could do some testing with that version. (especially with 5 supports and 2 seekers) This also solves the issue you mentioned in your third paragraph which is nice.

I can do some testing with comp search, idk could be helpful. I just had hyper bc searching for pokemon was the biggest issue with consistency. (butterfree was still hell to find bc hyper only gets stage 1s)

Ye u are rly right for the ADP matchup you might want wally, the only deck u don't wanna be giving free prizes to.

I can do some testing with a fire package, I conveniently have Battle Compressor's exact Gouging Fire decklist so I can just pick cards from that.

Again, thank you so much for the help! I will keep you updated on the results! 🥰🤞
