What is Destabilizing Factor? To start with here "Destabilizing Factor" is a deck built around the idea of using Fusion Strike Claydol to set up your opponent to easy OHKO combo on the coming turn no matter where they might find themselves after your play your turn, active spot or the comfy bench.  Claydol has an attack "Ancient Imprint" which allows you to reduce your opponents active Pokemon HP to 60This is the key of this deck. You may then use "Rapid Spin" attack to retreat to safety of your bench and force your opponent to switch a Pokemon from the bench to Active. So here is where another major piece of your combo with "Destabilizing Factor" is. Lycanroc VMAX is your OHKO machine here with it´s attack "Hunting Claw" it can target any Pokemon on the board that has 60 or less HP left! And that attack is not hindered by Manaphy which makes it a great upper hand in many cases. So with this range of 60 or less HP you are either setting up a stronger opponent with Claydoll* ( *destabilizing factor) or rushing them in the early start with Lycanroc VMAX to snipe possible squishy 60 HP Basic Pokemon. In case that there has to be some more pressure laid down Lycanroc VMAX can attack with "Max Edge" to counter and possibly snipe something on your opponents bench since it deals 30 damage in addition. Even there in case of "Max Edge" Manaphy might be a pest not to let this detail out. Old Cemetery from Chilling Reign is there to be played carefuly but be sure to have it in play as soon as you can. It helps with getting the needed damage on your opponent to bag them with "Hunting Claw". Try playing it after you attach needed energy to your Pokemon.
Happy hunting and have fun playing "Destabilizing Factor" !

Really great deck, would love to ise this -- one thing i would do though is to play a couple copies of Spikemuth to damage pokemon moving to bench, meaning that max edge is more consistent ko ing pokemon v :)

Well I figured that Spikemuth is quite avoidable by many opponent´s and on the other hand everyone needs energy. It would just put me to more finicky play than using Old Cemetery.

I like how you found the two fighting pokemon with synergy. Sadly i don't think this idea is even reliable enough to have fun with. 3 turns to knock out a pokemon is ridiculous. And if you get a claydol knockout you still have a 4 turn delay to execute the plan. I don't have a solution to make it work, but you could always improve the energy acceleration and basic pokemon search options.

This deck was built with a unique mechanic inside. My main motivation was not to put out something groundbreaking. Just something new and kinda theme-deck / battle deck like. It works very well for me , even being a bit slower than current " i go turn one to evolve and attack on the coming turn" meta the list is quick enough to counter-attack very nice. I found playing it quite enjoyable. :D

The way I see it, rapid spin doesnt even need to be used. If you can run 3 or 4 air balloons, then your claydoll can pivot out before lycanroc gets the KO, and claydoll comes out the next turn and starts the cycle again. Running 4 Boss Orders and a lumineon to search them, it could be a good matchup against most VMAX decks in meta.

@weedle - well in my opinion the list is good as it is hehe Rapid Spin is there for case of emergency
Weedle avatar
No ofc you built it, you know how it works but when the other guy daid 3 turn ko i think he thought rapid spin was usually going to be used
Officelinebacker avatar
@Weedle Im the other guy i think... And I didnt thought, I read his game plan and he literally explained that in his opinion is a good list. Rapid spin is just a bad move to implement in the strategy, i know it doesnt work with people who know how to play and have a solid deck. 3 balloon is very good option, as you said.
Weedle avatar
Yh i think we both misinterpreted that is was only for emergencies

You two are quite right there. Adding one more Boss's orders and Balloon would make this strategy more efficient. On the other hand I don't see other cards to switch for other than Choice Belt and Adventurer's discovery to make space. Swapping anything else other than these two would make the deck foundation weaker. Other option for freeing up one or two more spaces is removing one or two Crushing Hammer, but that neither I can see as a viable option since hammering down energy can mean everything in current format. In the end playing two copies of Balloon on expense of Choice Belt is the only change that would make sense. Since playing Boss's Orders is a skill on its own knowing the best moment and choice for the flip so in my humble opinion two copies are enough for a wise player. I'm leaving the list as it is since in its original form it has a unique synergy and Battle Academy/Theme Deck style of build with affordable cards when you would look at it in raw cheapest card form.
