But can't they just put the evolution Pokémon back on from their hand if you use Golurk V? Because you're just putting the highest stage Evo into their hand, and I would assume they would want to put the evolution Pokémon you put into their hand back into play, and it seems they can do it immediately. So what's the point of Golurk?
PlasmaFists11 is right, this really won't work too well. However, I could see a strategy in damaging your opponent's active Pokémon and then devolving them, as once they're devolved they would have reduced health. So if you did 220 damage to a Lugia VSTAR, and then devolved it, the Lugia V would be knocked out before your opponent could re-evolve it.
