Dont be too afraid to discard energy as theres plenty of super rod to get them (and a 3rd round of Dialga line if needed) back into the deck. It may seem like an excessive amount of energy, but its necessary to make Metang's ability consistent.

Zamazenta can be surprisingly tanky for a 1 prize basic when combined with Bravery Charm, Full Metal Lab, and his ability  for effectively 240 HP, so when you can charge on up in reserve for when something gets knocked out for a decent 220 damage hit. also nice to have for getting around rule box blockers like mimikyu.

Thorton is there to swap out lumineon so that its not just dead weight  taking up a bench slot and speed up reviving a discarded pokemon if you cant afford to wait on redrawing after super rod. Remember that turn count is also retained so you can immediately evolve a basic pokemon switched this way (so long as the pokemon youre replacing wasn't played the same turn).
