Deck Primer

This deck gets a bit of an upgrade in Destined Rivals thanks to Shaymin releasing and will get a bit better when the Psyduck Promo releases some day to stop Dusknoir from nuking it.

Strategy: Going second is really ideal for this deck but if you go first that's alright as well. Anyways, for your first turn, regardless of going either second or first, get out 2-3 Applin's (3 is ideal since your Applin's are REALLY frail), 2 Grookey's, Shaymin, Goldeen, and 1-2 Petilil's. 2 would be ideal for Petilil

2 would be ideal for Petilil but your Bench Space is pretty important. Afterwards, if you're going second, use either TM: Evolution or Find a Friend from Applin to evolve your Pokémon up or get a Pokémon you need into your hand. Anyways, when you use TM: Evolution, try to get out Thwackey and either Seaking or Dipplin. These two cards are your main attackers. Shaymin is your Bench Barrier that prevents snipe attacks for your Non-Rulebox Pokémon from cards like Greninja ex, Blaziken from Destined Rivals, and other cards. But do note that Shaymin doesn't prevent damage COUNTERS, they're both separate things. You should try to get Festival Grounds into play to get your Ability Festival Lead to work for Dipplin and Seaking. Seaking will be your Early Game Attacker along with being decent Draw Support, Dipplin will be your main Attacker later on after your board is fully established. Anyways, Arven helps get out your Item and Tool Cards, Iono for Disruption, Professor's Research to get better hands, Boss's Orders for Gusting, and Lana's Aid for recovery. Lilligant furthers Dipplin's Damage output and does stack which is quite helpful and Maximum Belt the ACE SPEC of choice, increases Dipplin's damage output a lot more. Thwackey is essentially single prize Pidgeot ex but only works when your Active Pokémon's Ability is Festival Lead which you will have active most of the time. Vitality Band is quite helpful as it can further your damage output by 10 which is quite helpful when your Maximum Belt is gone. Also, ALWAYS take the chance to use a second attack with Festival Lead as it lets you do many things. One final thing is to note that this deck does get destroyed relatively quickly which does suck. That's all for the strategy so feel free to make any changes or to leave any suggestions!

CTC: The cards will be in a list with a brief description and cards to cut to add them will be added at the end. Anyways here's the list:

- Colress's Tenacity - Helps search out for an Energy and your Festtival Grounds.

- Rellor and Rabsca - Provides better Bench Barrier but is an Evolution Line which takes up more space.

- Defiance Band - An alternative to Vitality Band when you're behind on prizes you do 30 more damage instead of 10 more.

- Survival Brace - helps Dipplin survive an extra turn but does get countered relatively easily.

- 2 Kieran's - Provides a Switch option or to deal 30 more Damage.

Alright, to add in Colress's Tenacity, you can cut something like Lana's Aid. For Survival Brace, just cut Max Belt since that's the only way to use it in the first place. For 1-1 Line of Rabsca, cut Shaymin and Counter Catcher. For Defiance Band, cut Vitality Band.

This deck was quite fun to use online but I will be testing it a bit more to find a bit more effective build.

Dragapult ex and Dusknoir nukes this deck same goes for Hands from Joltik Box and Future Box, but probably one of the better Single Prize decks in Destined Rivals.

LimeLemon avatar

Waffle Enthusiast That is true, though Rabsca may be able to help a bit more.

To be honest you NEED Rabsca because if you don't have it you lose to Dragapult 90% of the time.

Pe7son This deck is completely outdated, as it's meant for the Destined Rivals format. I already have a version for Black Bolt and White Flare that'll be releasing soon.

honestly if you are not running Bug Catching Set (Twilight Masquerade) then why not just all dragon Applin? The draconic Applin is just honestly better...

Emboar500 This deck is outdated as it's  for the Destined Rivals format, furthermore, changes such as that had already been made for the Black Bolt and White Flare format that will release soon.
