Deck Primer

It's been so long since I've made a Dragapult ex deck (last one was Black Bolt and White Flare which was before Mega Evolution Base and 3 months ago), so here's another one! Also, I will try to be uploading more often, but like previously mentioned on the Gardy deck I released, don't trust my word for it fully as things may change and prevent that from happening.

Strategy: I strongly suggest going second with this deck. Anyways, during your First Turn; attempt to ge out the following

Anyways, during your First Turn; attempt to ge out the following Pokémon:

- 2-3 Dreepy

- 1-2 Duskull (Avoid benching Duskull if you know they have the Psyduck Promo)

- 1 Budew (If you're item-locking with itchy pollen)

- Any other Pokémon of your choice.

Anyways, I will now be moving onto Pokémon Explanations.

Pokémon Explanations:

Drakloak is your Draw Engine Pokémon with its Ability Recon Directive which lets you look at the Top 2 Cards of your deck, choose one to add to your and the other one goes to the bottom of your deck. Dragapult ex is obviously your Main Attacker which deals 200 Damage with Phantom Dive and 6 Damage Counters worth of Spread Damage in any way you like to their Benched Pokémon. Dusknoir and Dusclops help spread damage with Cursed Blast which is extremely useful for Pult and can help you KO higher HP Pokémon.

Munkidori also helps spread damage when a Darkness/Luminous Energy is attached to it which moves up to 30 Damage from one of your Pokémon to one of your Opponent's Pokémon. Hawlucha helps spread 1 Damage Counter to 2 of your Opponent’s Benched Pokémon, which helps Pult’s Phantom Dive KO 70 HP Basic Pokémon. Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex is a late game attacker. Budew helps item-lock in the Early game. Latias ex gives Basic Pokémon Free Retreat so it doesn’t really benefit Pult that much but is still helpful and Fezandipiti ex provides additional Draw Support.

I shall now move onto the Trainer Card Explanations.

T.C. Explanations:

Lillie’s Determination allows you to shuffle your hand into your deck to then Draw 6 new Cards, essentially giving you a new hand, but if you have exactly 6 Prize Cards remaining, you Draw 8 Cards instead. This card is essential in getting the cards you need and is a staple in many other decks. Iono provides disruption, Boss’s Orders provides gust, and Hilda lets you get an Energy and an Evolution Pokémon from your deck. The newest addition to Pult from Phantasmal Flames is Dawn, which lets you get a Basic, a Stage 1, and a Stage 2 Pokémon! Which lets you get out the entire line of Pult or Dusknoir or a mixture of both!

Buddy-Buddy Poffin helps you get 2 Basic Pokémon with 70 HP or less onto your Bench, yet again another staple in countless decks. Nest Ball allows you to get any Basic Pokémon onto your Bench and Ultra Ball lets you discard 2 Cards from your Hand to get any Pokémon from your deck into your Hand. All of these are great Pokémon searching cards. Rare Candy allows you to instantly evolve Dreepy into Dragapult ex or Duskull into Dusknoir, assuming you have either in hand, and you didn’t put them into play that same turn. Counter Catcther provides even more gust since you’ll likely be behind on Prize Cards while setting up, so it’s best to take advantage of it. Night Stretcher provides recovery by adding either a Pokémon or Basic Energy from your Discard Pile into your hand which is helpful at certain situations like recovering an Energy to use Phantom Dive, put Pult into play on another Drakloak/Dreepy and Rare Candy, and so on. Then, for the Stadium of choice, Jamming Tower which shuts off all Tool Cards which is a pretty good counter to tool reliant decks or to just make the Tool Cards your Opponent plays useless. Also, since the ACE SPEC of choice is Neo Upper Energy and I don’t cover energies in explanations, it’s here to allow Pult to attack with One Energy attachment.

This concludes the entire Strategy section, the CTC section will be explained next. Regardless whether you want to read it or not, feel free to do whatever you want with this deck and feel free to ask almost any questions, any suggestions, any feedback, and have a great rest of your day! Also, thank you all for your support I appreciate all of you!

CTC: The cards that I'd recommend to add into this deck as an alternative for you to try out or try to fit your preferences will be sorted into a list with a brief description for every card. If there any cards here or from your own thoughts/ideas that you'd wish to add into this deck, cut out any cards that you don't find too useful. With this being stated, here is the list:

Pokémon:

  • 1 Shaymin (DRI) - Provides some type of Bench Protection to you Non-Rulebox Pokémon, but it doesn’t protect against Damage Counters.
  • Moltres (PFL) - Gives you a Single Prize Attacker that deals 120 Damage against ex Pokémon.

Trainer Cards:

  • 1 Turo’s Scenario - Resets one of your Pokémon.
  • 2 Arven - Helps find an Item and a Tool Card, you should likely add this in if you add in Tool Cards.
  • 2nd Hilda - Alternative to 1 Dawn.
  • 1 Professor’s Research - Discards your entire hand and you Draw 7 new Cards.
  • 1 Switch - Self-explanatory.
  • 1 Air Balloon - Gives Dragapult ex Free Retreat or to make other Pokémon Free Retreat, excluding BM Ursaluna.
  • 1-2 TM: Evolution - Helps you evolve your Pokémon in the Early Game or under an item-lock.
  • Sparkling Crystal - Alternative ACE SPEC of choice.

This concludes the CTC (Cards to Conisder) section, so have a great rest of your day and feel free to do whatever you want with this deck! I appreciate all of you!
