Dragapult ex Post-Rotation (play tested)

With the up-and-coming rotation, Dragapult will most certainly excel, but its strategy will dramatically shift. Dragapult will lose very important cards like Iono, but with the loss of anti-meta decks like Gardevoir, I forecast that Dragapult will lean towards a more aggressive playstyle. With the up-and-coming rotation, Dragapult will most certainly excel, but its strategy will dramatically shift. Dragapult will lose very important cards like Iono, but with the loss of anti-meta decks like Gardevoir, I forecast that Dragapult will lean towards a more aggressive playstyle. However, players can be punished for being reckless. To balance this new archetype of Dragapult, I included Cornerstone Ogerpon to allow for passive play when facing ability-heavy decks. In the post-rotation, Alakazam is one of the only decks that deals double damage to Cornerstone, but it solely uses ability attackers. (Note: Dragapult could be prone to new Psychic attackers from future sets). Therefore, removing Cornerstone from play requires resources that are punishable later on.

Neo Upper Energy is vital in explosive plays. Having a one-turn powered Dragapult threatens one-prizers and disrupts tempo instantly, forcing early pressure on opponents. In addition, Neo Upper Energy allows more flexible energy management. Hilda, searchable by Meowth, supports this strategy.

Overall, this deck could be a long lasting competitor in the J format, combining explosive pressure and consistent strategic prowess.

Edit #1: Luminous Energy is G-Format (oops) but swapping for fighting allows for search with Crispin, which is overall much cleaner otherwise.

Edit #2: Subsituted Munkidori, Dark Energy, and Red Card for a Psychic Energy, Jamming Tower, and Lillie's Clefairy.

Edit #3: Removed Cornerstone Ogerpon & Fighting energy for a Dusclops and Judge (better for later game)
