Deck Primer

Loved this deck in expanded when PTCGO was still around. Modified it for standard play in the current format. Been using it for weeks and I can tell you from experience this deck is a monster in standard and post-rotation it will be virtually the same (bye Duraludon VMax and Path to the Peak) I will edit it post-rotation. If you have any minor tweaks feel free to share. Good luck and happy playing!

How do u play Zard and Moon macthups?

LordZed89 avatar

Good questions R3H4B Very strategically lol:

For Moon:

Altaria EX's Light Pulse negates Gouging effect.

Calamity attack hp isn't high enough to knock you out and Giratina VStar's attack hits for 280hp knocking out moon.

Also, Noivern EX's Covert Flight negates basic pokemon from being able to attack.

For Zard it is a bit trickier:

Typically I rely on the fact in early game I haven't taken enough prizes for Burning Darkness to knock me out and end game I rely on baby Altaria's soothing lullaby to put it to sleep so I can two shot it.

You want to go first with both of those decks because Arceus' main function is to lead off with an energy attached, best case on your bench with a switch, Arceus Vstar,  and Double Turbo or basic energy (depending on if you attached a basic or double turbo first turn) in hand. In this deck it is used to set up using it's VStar ability and to place energy on to your drago using it's attack. Early game KO's with it are just an added bonus when you get them, like when a squawk happens to be stuck in the active or a stage 1.

Hope that helped.
