This deck is constantly being updated with the changing standard meta and/or small improvements. Please understand that the meta can rapidly change and deckbuilding can reflect this.  Thanks and I hope you enjoy the deck!

Deck Goal: Deck is focused around being able to both go first and set up Moltres/Entei and also has the ability to go second with Magma Basin which allows Entei V to hit numbers as high as 220 turn 1. Every card being a basic increases the consistancy of the deck.  Baby hoopa is a viable 1 prize attacker and it also sets up numbers for the main attackers while also dealing with many single prize pokemon.  Baby Hoopa also is the only attacker in the deck that does not need to use any gimmick to attack, simply switch it to active and deal a minimum of 90 damage with a 1 prize attacker.  Deck hits Mew/Genesect for both weaknesses.  Energy switch allows for Entei to be set up if you miss Magma Basin by using Galarian Moltres V's ability.  Energy switch also allows Galarian Moltres V to be able to attack in one turn using its ability, an energy in hand, and a Magma Basin/Energy already in play.  Mew searches after each knock out and allows for safe 1 prize pivots with the ability to search every card in deck bar the stadium with its ability.  Cape of Toughness gives Entei V 280 HP, Moltres V 270HP, and Hoopa 170 HP (Also Crobat and Lumineon get over 200 HP lol).  This lets the main V's avoid certain ko's such as Choice Belt Arceus VSTARs damage range of 210-230.

Strategy: Basically just draw as much as you can turn 1 using Crobat V/Lumineon V/Mew/Entei V and try to attack immediatly with Entei V/Galarian Moltres V/Baby Hoopa by using Magma Basin/Energy Switch/Manually Attaching to accelerate energy and swing the momentum in your favor by taking an early knockout/doing damage. 3 Boss Orders lets you gust up common benched V pokemon like Crobat/Lumineon for easy kills.  Baby Hoopa is both the decks backup option and a reliable one prize attacker.

Strengths: Can attach up to 3 energy per turn (Manual Attach/Magma Basin/Galarian Moltres V Ability). Every card being a basic increases the consistancy of the deck by a large amount. Including cards such as Magma Basin/Energy Switch, every single card in the deck can attack for 0-1 attaches of energy. Entei V has 230 hp on a basic which is massive and leads to some weird interactions. Entei V also punishes opponents for playing setup pokemon. Magma Basin allows for insane first turn plays and recovery. Can consistantly attack going second for early damage/prizes. Outpaces most other decks regardless of going first or second due to its speed and simplicity.  Fire/Dark is a very unique typing for a deck and hits many things for weakness. Multiple attackers allow for unique plays every game.  Consistant draw/search engine with a switch card/Air Balloon Mew/Entei. Self sustains after a certain point. Inherently immune to energy disruption.  Reliable mix of 1/2 prize pokemon that can all attack turn 1.  Arguably one of the only decks in format that can reliably go second and take a prize/swing for damage every time due to its insane energy acceleration. Has the ability to tech in things to adapt to the meta (such as Galarian Zapdos V & Fighting Energy/Echoing Horn/Tool Jammer/Etc) as the main core of the deck is somewhat compact. With Cape of Toughness most decks struggle to 1 shot most of your V pokemon without weakness.

Weaknesses: Water weakness is hard to overcome.  Incredibly reliant on using Moltres V/Magma Basin for energy acceleration.  Single prize decks can win the prize war if they can one shot Entei V and cannot be dealt with by Hoopa.  Entei V having 3 retreat can get it locked in active if you misplay or get really unlucky.  Suffers against decks that punish abilities as nearly every card has one.  Plays multiple setup V pokemon that can get Boss'ed out if you get behind prize wise. Can sometimes be difficult for Entei V to hit large numbers against decks that dont play down many pokemon.

NoteThis is a more streamlined version of another one of my favorite decks, Entei V Bird Box, which is focused more on using Galarian Moltres V & Galarian Zapdos V for coverage and you can check it out using this linkhttps://pokemoncard.io/deck/entei-v-bird-box-11147

honestly, supporter counts are really low, i acknowledge that the main strategy has really few cards needed and that this is a pretty really solid deck with lots of ability draw, but how do you find those abilities. I've used the test hand feature and 3/10 times you could rip a research. Also if you really do feel like bossing a new pokemon each turn (which is absolutely viable) play a bit of a higher count of Crobat, probably just cut one mew. by the way I haven't playtested your deck so my feedback could be null and void if it works well for you.

The low supporter count is because this is a high item low supporter variant. It's similar to what Mew Vmax does (They play like 6 supporters) because decks that are already consistent focus on being explosively fast and tend to play low supporter counts as they can clog the hand turn one. The inverse is true for control which usually lacks consistency and are forced to play high counts of supporters. Main gimmick is just using a quick/ultra ball to pitch all energy you get to get a crobat and draw 6 with it and move from there turn one. With 8 supporters you have over a 70% chance of hitting one after using mew/entei/crobat and if you miss it you probably hit Magma Basin which is the better then hitting a supporter lol.

Just wanted to say thanks for checking out one of my decks. If anyone has any questions or suggestions please do tell. I love testing and improving so any information is helpful.

Hey, good list. I'll give some thoughts since Im also trying to find a fun Entei deck, and i have a couple of lists in my profile too. - The switch amount is insanely high, i understand you never want to get stuck with an active 3 retreater. To solve both the low supporter amount and not loose too many switches, i would add 2 bird keepers and reduce 2 rope, or 1rope 1 switch. - A belt or two wouldnt hurt for the easy V knockout. Even hoopa would struggle with a mew v with oricorio on bench. - Going to agree with @average deck builder on adding an extra crobat v and lowering to 3 mews. - A moltress as a second 1 prize attacker would be interesting too. You should test which feels better with recommendations that might be fun considering: - 2 marnie, 1 raihan. Lumineon might fetch you the game winning raihan for an out of nowhere moltres v attack. - Pokegear 3,since too many mews - Less energy search/switch, more basic energy. Hope it helps.

@Officelinebacker The previous comment was when the deck was running 4 boss 4 research so the bit about the low supporter count is a bit outdated lol. I touch it up nearly every day. Also energy switch does the same thing as Raihan almost 100% of the time. As for the energy searches its far better to play lower energy counts with high search for consistency issues.

@ApertureBlack We definitely are in disagreement with your Raihan take. Raihan can be tutored with Lumineon V, thats 4qb+4ub+1raihan= 9 chances of getting that energy acceleration. If you factor 3 energy switch + 4 mews, thats still lower chance. It goes without saying that you can also search those qb and ub with mew too. Having said that, i do agree that 8 energy might be just enough. I lack the Galar Moltress V to test it, but i can take your word on leaving 8 energy. I still like your list, i might just build it in real life soon.

@ApertureBlack can you explain how this deck works with water pokemon without any water energy? I am new to playing Pokémon and learning to play with my eight-year-old son. I bought your deck to play with him and his friends. *Also, read your strategy but confused with why have 4 Mews? So low in health and ability to get items doesn't seem worth it. Thanks for any assistance!
ApertureBlack avatar
@Linsanity07 The manaphy is specifically there to block spread decks such as jolteon and urshifu. It will never be an attacker. As for the mews it's just an additional draw or search. If you have a more advanced question feel free to ask. Also I may have changed the list since you last viewed it, as I only run 3 mews as of now.
Linsanity07 avatar
@apertureblack thanks for the response! Can you help me with a few more matters: 1. What about water energy for Limeon V? 2. For Manaphy, is that ability only when it's active or can it function on the bench? 3. I understand the ability for mew but you can only use it when it's active. To put in the active spot risks it being attacked which can be knocked out by so many pokemon in one hit, risking prize cards. Since I am new to this, my questions don't exist to challenge you but to understand the gaps that I'm missing. Thank you!
ApertureBlack avatar
@Linsanity07 1.Lumineon is a support pokemon, its only use is to search a supporter in times of need. Many pokemon are dedicated support pokemon that are used once and take up bench space as their downside. They tend to never attack and offer some immediate benefit or passive one throughout the game. Crobat/Lumineon are example of one and done support pokemon while ones like Mew/Manaphy offer some benefits every turn. 2.Manaphys ability functions regardless of where it currently is on the board. Most pokemon will state on the card if the ability does not work if it is active or if it is not. 3. While Mews ability only works when it is active; the ability is once per mew per turn. Meaning if you have a card like switch/escape rope/air balloon you can use the ability to hopefully search up a card that is more usable and then either manually retreat into an attacker pokemon or use an item that switches it forcefully or potentially chain multiple mews.

Very helpful, thank you! Do you know of any pokemon that has Mew's ability but with more HP?
ApertureBlack avatar
@Linsanity07 Unfortunately there is no alternative to mew that would quite fit the role that it currently has. The only other options that I would consider would be Kricketune V with 180 HP or Amazing Rare Jirachi with 70.
