Torterra deck that focuses on setting up Torterra with 4-5 evolved bench in 3-4 turns consistently. No need to include card draw like beautifly because you constantly fill up your hand with pokemon. The aim of this list is to develop a full board very quickly and trade knock outs with single prize Torterra for mostly 2 prize Pokemon.

Playtested over 300 games with this deck to reach the current version.

Notable findings: This list is very reliant on and built around evolving into LilligantVStar and/or Grotle early. Ideally turn 2 vs. most meta decks but can probably manage another turn or two depending on fast the opponent can set up. Also needs to have Forretress available as in not prized. Because of those criteria, this deck is prone to bricking. Very good into Charizard ex and Roaring moon. Can stand up to many other meta decks.

Turn 1: Get LilligantV and/or turtwig

Turn 2: (Hopefully with the correct Trainer cards) Evolve Turtwig to Grotle and LilligantV to VStar. Use LilligantVStar to search for 5 grass types. Ideal Active+Bench should be mix between LilligantVStar and Grotle along with 4 other basic pokemon (not scatterbug). If no Grotle yet make sure to add one to your hand with Vstar power. Can choose to subtitute basic pokemon for a few energies if you benched alot of basics already.

Turn 3: Use Grotles to evolve as necessary (focus on getting Forretress ex and active Torterra). Use Forretress ex's ability to sacrifice for 5 grass energies on whoever you want (ideally active Torterra). If you did not get turtwig turn 1 then turn 4 would be the earliest Torterra. In the case you can consider putting energies on LilligantVStar if you really need to attack this turn.

This set up provides:

5 evolved pokemon, including Torterra, with 5 grass energies spread between them. (6 evolved pokemon if using Spewpa tech)

or

6 evolved pokemon, including Torterra, if didn't need to use Forretress ex for energies.

Also being down 2 prizes from Forretress sacrifice activates Defiance Band's +30 damage, activates Counter Catcher, and provides a valuable iono played from hand if you have any of these cards. This will result in 280-330 Damage allowing you to OHKO most noteable threats. Also if your opponent was able to knock one of your pokemon early leaving you them with 2-3 prizes, a Roxanne early in the game sometimes lead to an instant victory.

Tips: Should always use Grotle to search pokemon even if you dont need any more for your board so you can thin your deck to more likely draw trainer cards. Always save Scatterbug/Spewpa for the same turn you're attacking if you need the extra 50 dmg for Torterra.

Reasons for some inclusions:

Extra copy of Forretress and LilligantVSTAR - This list is extremely reliant on activating both of those cards. The basics Pineco and LilligantV can be searched with heavy ball if prized. Can try to cut something for extra copy of pineco and lilligantV if they are consistently prized and heavy ball doesnt come soon enough.

Scatterbug/Spewpa - I think these guys are crucial to include in this deck in any list. They are a super easy way to get a quick evolution on the board in 1 turn that doesn't have a special requirement like Luxray or Gengar.

Venomoth - I think venomoth is a very valuable inclusion. For 1 energy it can basically stall you 1 turn to allow you to either attach necessary energy or evolve crucial pokemon and possibly stall more afterwards if needed. If it survives the coin flip you can retreat it into your Torterra or chance another stall turn.

Toedscruel - Toedscruel is included only for certain matchups I feel I struggle against. Gholdengo and Chien Pao. Can be useful in some random matchups like Sandiconda. Although its not useful in every matchup its almost and instant win vs Gholdengo and Chien Pao if you include it on the bench in your final board. Its so good vs those decks you need to save Super Rod in case your opponent somehow boss's it up to knock it out.

Lost Vacuum - If someone plays Path to the Peak turn 1 or 2, you basically lose. Since only a few decks run that card hopefully 1 is enough for you and you can try to search for it with arven when needed. A stadium to replace Path is not searchable for arven and vacuum can also take out crucial tools sometimes.

Brassius - Brassius feels a bit like a win more type of card. Sometimes he can come in clutch but I included him because when you have your full board you're constantly increasing your hand size from searching with Grotle for the rest of the game and he seems to get more and more value. But this supporter can definitely be replaced.

Ultra ball - Ultra ball can be subbed for Capturing Aroma or even Boost Shake. All serves the purpose of consistently finding evolutions you need. Ultra ball just seems most consistent.

Included more grass energies just in case some are prized

P.S. I stole the name I saw someone else name their list and I thought it was a perfect name for how the list runs.

I like Luxurious Cape but I didn't include it in this list because you are already giving up 2 prizes from Forretress and sometimes your opponent can still knock out torterra even with it. ie. Roaring Moon, Any fire type pokemon, GiratinaVSTAR's VSTAR power, and even Charizard ex after you take a few prizes. I think the main goal is just to make sure you can trade knockouts and come out ahead by being single prize. I am playing around with a different list that doesn't use Forretress and will probably include Cape.
