Ace specs are hard to work around in terms of playing a budget since playing one is at time mandatory, but can inflate the price of some deck (at least a single copy will last you the entire time its legal). Hopefully they receive reprints in the future. One of the few cheap ace specs is Neo Upper energy, which incentivises you to play Stage 2 decks whish is a big plus. there's a lot of good support for stage 2 pokemon and you have to consider it when deck building on a budget. Feraligator is a perfect example. Ive seen quite a few decklists for Feraligator, but i budgeted it as cheap as possible. With irida you can evolve a feraligator with rare candy very easily. The energy count is low and keeping track of your energy count is the most important part of this deck. Luxray hits Pidgeot Ex and Lugia Vstar for weakness and is  a great secondary attacker.
