Deck Primer

Here's a deck I've wanted to make for a while.

You'll notice right away that there are no Pokemon V in this deck whatsoever. That's completely intentional. First off, it allows immunity to Path to the Peak. Secondly, it means Pot Helmet will work on all of your Pokemon. In fact, that's a great example of what this deck is about. You're giving your Pokemon extra HP, extra damage output, and decreased damage taken thanks to a lot of the cards in here. Your main attacker is going to be Hariyama. Setting

Setting up an Abomasnow and 1 or 2 Emboar on your bench will give him a healthy + 50 HP and + 60 damage. Additionally, his Guts ability means there's always a chance he stays up after an attack. The only guaranteed kill is from Poison or Burn, which become no issue when he has Impact Energy. Stone Energy improves longevity as well, and all that combined with the Scroll of Scorn makes for a potentially MASSIVE counterattack. By that point, his max HP is 190, he takes 20-40 less damage per attack, his Hammer In does 160 damage, and his Furious Anger does a potential 190 damage if he bounced back with Guts.

Abomasnow is meant to stay on the bench and stay alive, but if worst comes to worst, he can still do some damage. Emboar is ultimately your heaviest hitter, and can tank the most damage with a potential max HP of 250. However, if he gets knocked out, your damage output will suffer pretty badly. Ultimately, think of it this way. Hariyama is the Tank and should be up in your enemy's face. Emboar is the DPS and should get in, hit hard, and get back out when things get dicey. And Abomasnow is your Support. He gives the others a health boost to keep them alive.

Level Ball runs here instead of Quick Ball because every Basic Pokemon in here has 90 HP or less, meaning it's just outright better to use Level Ball. Evolution Incense is pretty self-explanatory, as are the rest of the Trainer cards in here.

The last thing to note is Twin Energy. I realized that this card fits PERFECTLY in this deck, since all three final forms have a 2 Colorless Energy requirement for their attacks. Since the only restriction is that the Pokemon not be a V or GX, everyone in this deck can utilize it. Heat and Stone Energy should go to Emboar and Hariyama respectively, and Impact Energy can go onto any of the three.
