Personally, this is my favorite archetype out of Paradox Rift. However, I don't want to take it to tournaments because of Technical Machine: Devolution (Paradox Rift)   Man, I hate that card with a passion :(

PAR ex deck 7/20

Personally, this is my favorite archetype out of Paradox Rift. However, I don't want to take it to tournaments because of Technical Machine: Devolution (Paradox Rift)   Man, I hate that card with a passion :(

Anyways, Garchomp's Hydro Lander attack is currently the most violent form of energy acceleration in the game, seeing as you can two shot most pokemon just with that. However, it also piles three fighting energies from your discard pile onto your benched pokemon. Considering you have Lucario, who hits for 60 for every fighting energy you discard from it, plus an ability that accelerates more energy onto it, you can set yourself up to one shot a pokemon the next turn.

You can also make it nearly impossible for your opponent to take prizes by using collapsed stadium to discard liabilities, Cheryl to heal Garchomp back up to 320 hp, and by attacking with Terrakion to stall for a turn while taking out a pokemon.

Plus, this deck's math checks out really well. Garchomp hits for 160 damage, and with since so many pokemon in the meta have 280 health, that leaves them with exactly enough health for you to finish them off with Terrakion or Garchomp's Sonic Dive. Terrakion is also able to OHKO almost any single prizer or an Arceus V or anything out of the Miraidon deck (since those have Fighting weaknesses). However, it probably won't see too much play due to the setup required and its weakness to the previously mentioned TM Devolution.

Anyways, I got rambling for a bit. Sorry about that. Feedback is welcome if you have any.

Well, if you want to comment in hopes of getting a pack, then you may as well leave some feedback.

So, I'd love to hear what you think of the deck :/

reuche avatar

Aight I think the deck is great 👍

MrMcKong avatar

reading this list really late after it came out since i just pulled a hyper rare garchomp ex irl- what would you replace for rare candy? since you said you forgot to put it in

AlphaNova avatar

MrMcKong Shoot I forgot to edit this sorry

There are really two ways you can go with this: One way would be to remove Lumineon, forest seal stone, and collapsed stadium. Seal stone only works on Pokémon v, so removing lumineon removes your one way of using it, and collapsed doesn't do much for this deck other than discard a liability like lumineon.

If you'd rather have lumineon as an extra way to find a supporter, or if you don't think that three Garchomps are necessary, you can remove a Garchomp and a Gible for two candies. You might be able to get away with this since it's tanky enough to hopefully survive an attack, and you rarely need to attack with it twice in a row.

However, I'd completely understand wanting to have three Garchomps, so option three is to remove a few trainers to retain the original cast as much as possible. You can probably get away with removing an earthen vessel since three copies is a lot. Pal pad and Klara may not be necessary either, but that's up to you. Finally, I've noticed that not a lot of decks have been using Jirachi, so that can be cut as well unless you really despise lost box.

While what you cut is up to you, my main recommendation is to run a number of copies of rare candy equal to the number of Garchomps you run. This lets you set up multiple Garchomps if your build relies on that, but also makes sure that your hand doesn't brick if you're relying more on lucario's ability. No matter how many copies you run, they should be easy enough to find since you have access to irida.

I hope you enjoy playing Garchomp if you choose to make it. Also, congrats on pulling the hyper rare Garchomp, considering what Paradox Rift's pull rates look like

We're trying to overrun the meta and Pokemoncard.io with Stonjourner, so you're welcome to help us by commenting here and checking out the page. Share this with EVERYONE.

Ok, no, just... no.

I uploaded this deck in hopes that I would recieve actual feedback and critique so I could make it better. A lot of other users on this site are doing the same. However, this deck has recieved almost nothing other than junk-posts like this.

That Stonjourner deck does not need any more adverstisement. It got deck of the week for crying out loud. So please, stop leaving comments like that on players' decks, it's not funny or cool. Thank you.

I disagree and think that 3 Earthen Vessel is key to the success of this deck. Pokestop could also be good, but supporters are quite useful. This deck looks pretty good, which is why people leave pointless comments. I would switch Path with Pokestop or something more useful. In my opinion the Rare Candy should replace FSS, Klara, and Collapsed Stadium, but that's my opinion.

Can you update this with the rare candy please?

AlphaNova avatar

Ashton N Rare Candy has now been added. Sorry about that

Starmie23 avatar

Maybe you could add Gutsy Pickaxe? You could charge up mons on your bench

Grant (I think) can help with discarding energy as well.

Bro that comment made me feel weird, because grant is my name :r

I hate that card >:(

AlphaNova avatar

NoGoodNames I'm not sure how useful Grant would be since all the deck needs is to get three energies into the discard. In addition, the +30 won't do too much when Lucario's damage can scale high enough to overcome most hp barriers. Thank you for the suggustion though.

Starmie23 Don't worry, if I shuffle a Grant into this deck it won't be you ;) As for Gutsy, I'm not sure, since Garchomp powers up your benched pokemon consistently.

Although, with how popular this list is (10,000 views, how did that happen?) I think I'll test both of your reccomendations just to make sure I'm not turning anything away that could increase the deck's consistency.

NoGoodNames avatar

Just reread the description, and Grant does help make Terrakion's math easier at 150. I've played decks that need discard synergy, and had trouble with just ultraballs and vessels, so I thought it could help a little with that. I know I wish I'd thought of it a while ago with one particular deck.

Edit: Also forgot to recommend trying a TM Evo build, to fight back against Devo.

Jirachi is mostly useless except against Sableye, and 110 has poor math against this deck so I wouldn't be too worried.

Ashton N avatar

Any chance you could update it for post rotation?

AlphaNova avatar

Ashton N I probably will, I've been meaning to test outExcadrill (Temporal Forces) andDrilbur (Temporal Forces) from the new set, as it'll be easier to dump energy into the discard. I'll try to have that deck up soon

AlphaNova avatar

Ashton N The post-rotation version of this deck is up now
