This build is specifically for the current Pokemon TCG Live (Beta) Expanded Format - June 2026

Is it a bug? Was it a glitch?

Something's corrupting the code... Ghosts?

// Iron Valiant destabilizes the board with its Tachyon Bits ability and its hard-hitting Laser Blade attacks.
// Gengar, Dusknoir, & Xerosic’s Machinations dismantles your opponent's hand & depletes their resources.
// Together, they force a full-system collapse!

Going second is preferred. It is very possible to pull off Gengar & Mimikyu-GX's Horror House-GX attack on Turn 1.

If Gengar & Mimikyu-GX is prized, Trevenant & Dusknoir-GX can be an alternate initial attacker.

*** First Turn: Use Horror House-GX attack this turn or set up to use it next turn. ***

Supporter for Turn - Guzma & Hala or Arven

Fog Crystals, Quick Balls, and the Hisuian Heavy Ball are all items that help find your supporter for the turn. They find your Tapu Lele-GX and Tapu Lele-GX's Wonder Tag ability finds your supporter.

Tapu Lele-GX

Guzma & Hala is the preferred supporter since it can grab Telepathic Psychic Energy (TPE), a Mystery Garden stadium, and a tool.

Guzma & Hala

Attach TPE to Gengar or Dusknoir if possible. With TPE's effect, put [1] Latias ex and [2] the Necrozma, Gengar, Dusknoir, or an Iron Valiant onto the bench.

Telepathic Psychic Energy

Mystery Garden helps you search through your deck. You can also use it to discard a basic Psychic Energy. This synergizes well with Wondrous Patch.

Mystery Garden

It is possible to pull off a Turn 1 Horror House-GX attack, but you will need to use Wondrous Patch to pull it off. This is a reason why Arven could be a prefered Turn 1 supporter, but it all depends on what's in your opening hand. Do what makes sense.

Wondrous Patch

Gengar & Mimikyi-GX - Attack with Horror House-GX

If Gengar has two Psychic energies attached to it, then, use its Horror House-GX attack to fill up your hand and your opponent's hand with 7 cards. Due to the effect of Horror House-GX, your opponent can't play any cards from their hand next turn. This is great because you will play Xerosic's Machinations during your next turn.

Gengar & Mimikyu-GX

*** Following Turns: Control their hand size, while chipping away at their Active and Benched Pokemon. ***

Supporter for Turn - Xerosic's Machinations

At the start of your next turn, after a Horror House-GX attack, your opponent will have around 8 cards in their hand. This is a perfect opportunity to follow up with a Xerosic's Machinations.

Xerosic's Machinations

Your opponent is forced to discard from their hand until they are only left with 3 cards. Once they are down to 3 cards, you can do one of three things (the best option is the third one):

1. Attack with Gengar's Poltergeist attack. Your opponent likely saved at least 1 Trainer card (or more) after they were forced to discard most of their hand.
2. Retreat Gengar and promote an Iron Valiant ex or a Tapu Lele-GX.
3. Use Scramble Switch ACE SPEC or Tag Switch item to switch your Active Gengar with your benched Dusknoir. This is not impossible to pull off since [1] Horror House-GX filled up your hand with new cards and [2] you have Mystery Garden and a lot of Psychic Pokemon in play to do even more deck searching.

Scramble Switch

Trevenant & Dusknoir-GX - Attack with Night Watch

Once you have attacked with Horror House-GX, Gengar becomes a 3-prize liability.

Attach an energy to your benched Dusknoir with Wondrous Patch or with an energy from your hand. Then, use Scramble Switch to promote Dusknoir to the Active spot and move Gengar's energies to the Dusknoir. You can also move energies from Gengar to Dusknoir with Tag Switch.

Tag Switch

Attack with Dusknoir's Night Watch attack. Night Watch continues the hand control and leaves your opponent with 1 card in hand.

Trevenant & Dusknoir-GX

Keep attacking with Night Watch for as long as you can. Even risk getting your Dusknoir knocked out in order to continue the hand control.

Iron Valiant ex - A Mid-to-Late Game Attacker

While you attack with Dusknoir, start attaching energies to your benched Iron Valiant ex's. They will be used for the mid-to-late game. Don't forget to use their Tachyon Bits ability to chip away at their Benched and Active Pokemon. Those damage counters do add up and are impactful.

Iron Valiant ex
Necrozma V and Galarian Articuno V - For Additional Deck Search and Alternate Attackers

You can grab a Forest Seal Stone tool with Arven or Guzma & Hala supporter. If you use PTE on Turn 1 to put down Necrozma V or Galarian Articuno V on the bench, then, you can attach the Forest Seal Stone to one of them. Forest Seal Stone is great for following up a Turn 1 Horror House-GX attack or for making sure you can pull off a Turn 1 Horror House-GX.
If it can be helped, just make sure that you don't overbench.
Necrozma V can also be an attacker. Attach one of the special energies to it and it can do 220 damage with its Special Laser attack.
Necrozma V
Galarian Articuno V, with its Reconstitute ability, lets you draw a card by discarding 2 cards from your hand. This ability has synergy with Wondrous Patch and Mystery Garden.
Galarian Articuno V
*** Deck Edits: ***

Edit 1 - Removed cards in order to add more Basic Psychic energies.
Edit 2 - Removed Call Bells and added Necrozma V, Forest Seal Stone, and Mysterious Treasures to add another line to pull off a Turn 1 Horror House-GX or a Turn 2 Scramble Switch ACE SPEC.
Edit 3 - Removed Giant Bomb tool. Increased PTE count since it powers up Necrozma V's Special Laser attack and since it increases your likelihood of drawing into PTE by Turn 1. Replaced N's Plan with Tag Switch since you are most likely attaching energies to a Tag Team Pokemon during Turn 1.
Edit 3.1 - Removed Penny and added Special Red Card.
Edit 4 - Increased Xerosic's Machinations count to a total count of 3 (I think the deck should always have at least 3). Added Galarian Articuno V for additional deck search. Removed 1 basic Psychic energy and removed 1 Iron Valiant ex.
