Tyranitar ex has had low success due to its slow setup and low damage output (120-250). However recently in Temporal Forces, Lugia Vstar and Charizard/Pidgeot have been showing success in Japan. Having multiple lightning-weak Pokemon in the format boosts its damage output to relevant levels (220-500). Gutsy pickaxe is more for consistency than energy acceleration, though Cryptomaniac might change this. Neo-upper energy also gets you both attacks with a single attachment.

I can definitely see this as a counter-pick post-rotation. It's also very cheap right now.

Iplaylostbox stadiums aren't very reliable right now. you can only run so many copies and they aren't very searchable. But it did give me an idea to change up the deck. So I added extra copies of Pupitar from Pokemon Go and the Dodrios from 151. This allows the deck to have Dodrio as a secondary attacker and with Relicanth you can give your Tyranitar ex a spread attack to charge up Dodrios while drawing cards.
