I would try to go easier in the Golisopod ex line (2-2 instead of 3-3) and add 1 or 2 Iron Thorns ex as a secondary attacker instead, to hit Lugia VSTAR or Pidgeot ex for weakness. It's also a good pivot in some scenarios, and can use double turbo energy too). I would also play an energy acceleration engine, but I'm not sure which one yet. Maybe Xatu, I guess? Or you could play Baxcalibur or a Quaquaval line with 1 baby and 1 ex..? Maybe Palkia-VSTAR..? There are a ton of options, but none seens "just right"

Yeah you are right abt iron thorns ex it definitely seems pretty helpful, imma add rq.
abt energy acceleration, I have thought abt it, and like you said, nothing is "just right". Palkia vstar was close but I eventually settled on no energy acceleration because 2 energy is kinda managable with manual attachment. Especially since you're using the same golisopod to attack every turn, there isn't much of a need for acceleration at all.
