Deck Primer

Anti-meta Munki spread!🤘

- We should always try to use TM Energize as our first attack, and the 4 Arvens plus 1 Town Store make it much easier to find our tool cards.

- The 2 copies of Luxurious Cape can turn Steelix into a 280HP double prizer, which could be very useful in certain match ups (if it survives a hit, you get tempo to place one extra energy in play, making it easier to get more Munkis working); against high damage bench snipers (Slowking, Hydreigon ex, Wellspring Mask Ogerpon ex, Greninja

Anti-meta Munki spread!🤘

- We should always try to use TM Energize as our first attack, and the 4 Arvens plus 1 Town Store make it much easier to find our tool cards.

- The 2 copies of Luxurious Cape can turn Steelix into a 280HP double prizer, which could be very useful in certain match ups (if it survives a hit, you get tempo to place one extra energy in play, making it easier to get more Munkis working); against high damage bench snipers (Slowking, Hydreigon ex, Wellspring Mask Ogerpon ex, Greninja ex, etc.), you could also attach them to your Munkis, making it harder to snipe them.

- With 3 benched and energized Munkis, we have a 220 damage output every turn, from which up to 90 damage could be used to ping things in the bench; if you are not playing against Dragapult ex or other bench snipers/pingers, you could also use the Munkis to heal your active Steelix or a benched Onix, if needed.

- Lucky Helmet is a strong (yet unorthodox) source of draw power throughout the game, with the help of Fezandipiti ex, Town Store and Arven to keep you rolling; Jamming Tower could obviously be an issue, but we have 4 stadium cards as a good counter measure.

- Rescue Board can be used to promote a Munki to a free retreat pivot.

- Paldean Student, Lacey and Hassel are big supporter powerplays in the mid/lategame, helping us find all the important resources we might need to keep going.

- Your 3 gust items shoud be used to takedown 130HP or less benched engines or mid-evos, but you could also pair the attack with 3 Munki pings to gust 220HP or less benched double prizers, or to go for already wounded big boys that retreated.

- Hawlucha helps fixing a lot of maths, specially the "30+30+10" to KO most low HP basics in the format, or the "30+30+30+10" to KO certain 100HP stage 1 pokémon, specially once Cynthia's Gabite and Ethan's Quilava get released.

- If you brick, use Onix as a desperate attacker, which gives you a 50% chance of getting an extra turn if your opponent cannot gust around it; this is also a very good option for a first attack when you can't find TM Energize or evolve it into a Steelix.

- Our ACE SPEC of choice here is Prime Catcher, but Unfair Stamp, Secret Box and Neutralization Zone are also very good options for this deck.

- In most scenarios, you should probably try to go second, but Steelix turn 2 going first is also a very aggressive and scary menace.

This deck has serious low tier competitive potential, since the SteelMunki duo works as a sort of mix between Hop's Zacian ex, N's Zoroark ex and Dragapult ex playstyles, with a low cost low damage attack + high bench snipe potential, with the plus of playing around single prizers instead of double prizers.
