Deck Primer

Notes:

-Might change superior energy retrieval with energy retrieval.

-Mew might be replaceable. Unsure with what though.

-Might add Iron Leaves EX.

11/12/2024 Changes:

Cut out 2 Professor's Research, 1 Iono, 1 Grass Energy for 4 Drayton. Been seeing Drayton mentioned for Hydrapple and I think Hydrapple just needed more consistency. 4 Research felt like too much and I was tossing away so many needed cards at times.

1/21/2025 Changes:

-1 Mew and 1 Dipplin. In: 2 Budew. I'm trying out Budew to slow down a turn or two while letting TMO engines start rolling. I think Budew slowing down the game will really give Hydrapple the time it needs to get set up. Mew wasn't really hitting too often and I used it as a few retreater, so might as well let Budew fulfill that same role. One less Dipplin also because it wasnt a core strategy but a side attacker. The deck still auto loses vs Cornerstone Ogerpon EX but what can you do. We need a good grass attacker that can fulfill a secondary/third attacker role but I haven't seen anything come out yet.

Drayton has felt a little... weak, I think it should honestly have been 10~ cards and it would have been a great supporter. I like it over having to discard/losing my entire hand to Prof's Research or Iono.

2/12/2025 Changes:

-1 Budew out, 1 Mew in. There was one or two times I felt like I needed Mew. Still further testing is needed. Drayton kind of under performs, though I may replace it with Iris' fighting spirit when that releases. I found myself with a lot of low card hands with Drayton.

PokemonMaster177 card isn't available yet on here. Starmie is the placeholder.

you should switch dragon applin for the grass applin.

@swaggyp which applin? Curious as to why. Would have thought dragon applin's ability could come in hand if it really came down to it.

natethanius Applin (Twilight Masquerade) is better because you can use bug catching set to search for that too
