So, I play a fairly similar deck (Decklist on my profile), the only real question i have is why play Radiant Venusaur over Radiant Jirachi? Jirachi works much better at stalling bc the ability makes it super obnoxious to kill without path to the peak, can also just randomly take 3 prize cards for you. But if you just dedicate your early turns to Gourmandizing you dont need the draw Radiant Venusaur gives you.
also in a lot of matchups radiant venusaur is a vulnerability on your bench. If you're trying to Eiscue regis out of the game it's gonna be much harder with other mons sitting on your bench
I played Radiant Jirachi at first, but it doesn't offer an overtime consistency. It is nice to have as you said because it makes it awkward for the opponent, but in the end, if he KO it, you can only draw 3 cards once (Unless you recover it, but in the end I prefer to recover Dittos).
I only play one Snorlax so I rarely have enough time to do two or three Gormandize. Before I had Radiant Venu, the deck was really bricky. Adding Radiant Venu felt so much better. Especially since I play Meowth so it is easy to get a small hand.
It is true that it can become a liability, but when you feel like it can become one, you can just net it. Against Regi, you just need to setup an Eiscue and after you can Net everything else.
Overall, the reason I chose Radiant Venu is for continuous draw over punctual draw like Jirachi. Maybe if I played more draw supporter, I could afford to remove Radiant Venu, but right now, I feel like it is much better than Jirachi. Especially since I really like to play Misfortune's Sisters as my supporter of the turn (or Boss/Serena). At least this is in my deck, I can easily imagine Jirachi being better in another version of the deck.
Have a look at Sableye from vivid voltage (swsh4-105) as a replacment for Morpeko. It also has torment but costs 1 colourless more, in addition it has Filch.
Thanks for the idea! I didn't know of this card, but I still prefer the Morpeko for its 1 colorless cost. Morpeko's and Mawile's Attacks for one Energy are really life savers when I can only draw one of my Aurora or if the opponent has a Temple of Sinnoh
i feel like the radiant venusaur is kinda useless
I thought like that at first, but it is the complete opposite. The deck started to make sense when I added the Venusaur! Without it, it was awfully inconsistent. Adding it made it way better.
You start at first with Snorlax to setup so indeed you don't need Venusaur, but Venusaur is there afterward to keep the deck consistent. If required, you can even use Meowth to thin your hand and draw more cards at the end
Well, to be fair, you could also run two or three Snorlax (or more recovery) and try to setup for more turns or going back into Snorlax when you brick. I guess that's just my way of playing it that makes Venusaur useful.
Interesting deck! I really like it, and I think that scoop-up netting the Radiant Venusaur is a nice quirk. Congrats on deck of the week!
You forgot the wash energy buddy
Actually I mentioned why I didn't include it (because of Perrserker), but indeed, for Lost Zone I realized it is essential, so I will add it!
guys lets make this deck of the day https://pokemoncard.io/deck/best-budget-deck-37366
i worked really hard on it
How does this beat arceus duraludon?
It's a hard matchup unfortunately, but not unbeatable. The best bet is Morpeko's attack to prevent Duraludon to attack and forces it to retreat and waste energies. Confusion with Jinx is pretty useful. You just need to be careful with the Big Parasol. Use Vacuum to get rid of it and use Cyllene to reuse it if it has many Parasol!
I'm having a hard time with the Lucia matchup, the lumineon just keeps me not letting the yveltal do anything. Any tips?
Ouff, Lumineon is bad news :( Lumineon in Lugia decks is literally designed to counter Yveltal. At least there is a limit to how many time Lumineon can be back (number of balls) so your best bet is probably to stall them with Miltank and trap them with Mawile (after Lumineon is back in the deck) to force them to attach energy. But it is indeed a eal bad matchup. Lugia normal is easy but when they bring on the Lumineon, we need to be more creative!
Now that the Mimikyu from Paldea Evolved is out, you should use it to replace the miltank. It has protection against both V's and ex's
