Deck Primer

Well, I am back with another deck challenge. I was challenged to create a deck that made use of DUCKLETT as fast as possible, since I got into a debate concerning if Quaxly is just Paldean Ducklett. This also doubles as a remake of one of my older decks that uses a similar concept (don't look for it, it's absolutely horrendous. As in, even worse than this by a CONSIDERABLE amount).

So, because I can't use Ducklett itself in any meaningful way, I decided that a Swanna build would work well. And as I know, there's a combo using Flyinium Z: Air Slash and Misty & Lorelei. Using the Tag Team supporter allows you to reuse a GX attack again, even if you have used your GX attack. Assuming that you repeat this over and over again, you should be untouchable to both damage and effects of attacks!

My previous version of this was... something, but it wanted to use Blastoise to accelerate all 4 energy needed to satisfy the attack in one fell swoop. However, I don't think this deck is in all that big of a rush to turbo its way to swinging on the first turn. Maybe it's possible with Wally and Aqua Patches, but it would probably sacrifice a lot of consistency. You can power it up in 2 attaches using both Double Colourless Energy and Twin Energy.

Some of the more interesting choices in this deck involve Lumineon V instead of Tapu Lele-GX, and that's because Lumineon V can utilize Forest Seal Stone, and can be searched out via Irida and Dive Ball. The latter reason is also why I'm using Manaphy as a Bench Barrier instead of something like Mew. Path to the Peak also serves as some disruption since this deck doesn't rely on Rule Box abilties once you're out of the initial setup phase.

Overall, I think this deck is... okay in more casual evironments, and it's just missing something in order to actually work. Enjoy!

This is what pokemon wanted us to use when making cosmic eclipse I think. People realizing this late is crazy. Anyways the list looks pretty good. ❤️

Lana rod is kinda a misplay. You have 5 MandL max, which doesn't factor in well to the 8 Flyinium Zs. If anything, Zs should be less than MandLs.

I would max seeker and Compressor. MandL needs to be consistent to be effective.

Siegislash I realized when building this last year that all of the core cards for the strategy came from Cosmic Eclipse. My guess is that ADP pretty much overshadowed everything single-prize related for the 3 years it was legal in Standard.

Yeah honestly I think you're right. ADP being THE meta back then just didn't allow any single prizers to be relevant. Sad.

It feels like counts of 4 aren't needed. Swanna line doesn't need to be a 4-4, 4 Flyinium Z and 4 Lana's Fishing Rod is excessive, since it doesn't discard after use. Maybe consider alternatives to recovering Misty & Lorelai, like using Lusamine and Magnezone's Dual Brains? It definitely needs workshopping, but it's a fun idea.

So this is interesting, but I feel like there should be some sort of backup. Even though your opponent can't touch the Swanna, they could easily boss-knock a bat or dene even so. Maybe something like radzard could help. And also you need grant for the 5th discard of MandLs.
