Impure Bliss (Live! Expanded Blissey V)

If you've played on the PTCGO Expanded ladder, you've probably seen the 'Pure Bliss' archetype. It would typically run only four Blissey V, which can hit absurd damage with enough energy on it, and made use of Blissey's Colorless typing to hugely boost its damage output with Powerful and Double Colorless Energy. If you've played on the PTCGO Expanded ladder, you've probably seen the 'Pure Bliss' archetype. It would typically run only four Blissey V, which can hit absurd damage with enough energy on it, and made use of Blissey's Colorless typing to hugely boost its damage output with Powerful and Double Colorless Energy. With the loss of Battle Compressor in PTCGL Expanded Blissey has to go a little more turbo to get its energies into the discard on turn one, so this is an Impure Bliss deck.

Blissey isn't alone with the typical Dede-Bat though, with Stellar Crown giving us Bouffalant as a new teammate. The Bash Buffalo Pokemon further bolster's Blissey's already decent HP, giving it essentially 310 or 360 with Bravery Charm. This means that, for example, a Lugia Vstar with four Powerful Colorless Energy attached is doing only 240 damage to the pink blob - a number that can be reduced even further with V Guard Energy and which can then be healed off for the cost of a Double Colorless Energy with Hyper Potion.

Because of the high Energy count the Trainers aren't too exciting this time around :[. Collapsed Stadium and Professor Turo can be used to remove the multi-prize bench sitters and even heavily damaged Blissey V in a pinch, and I've opted for Marnie over Iono as a disruption card since the aim of the deck is prize denial. Lucky Energy is a handy draw engine once it's set up, and Mist Energy avoids OHKOs from the likes of Roaring Moon ex and Lugia's Yveltal (Shining Fates).

I'm on the fence about Hero's Cape as the Ace Spec, since typically I don't draw into it until I've already attached Bravery Charm. Maybe something like Poké Vital A or ol' reliable Prime Catcher would be better, but there is something funny about seeing a Blissey with that much HP.
