This was on old proof of concept deck I slapped together in early 2000 when I was a Junior in High School.

I never used it in any official WOTC tournaments (like the Super Trainer Showdowns) because I never participated in them, but I did use it in a local game/comic store when they held unofficial Pokemon TCG tournaments.

I remember how this deck performed very well. Assuming the card draws are in your favor, you can lock down your opponent's ability to evolve pokemon or block all Pokemon Powers/Abilities from working. That is the entire "in denial" part. And there is a possibility you could drag out a match for quite a while.

I got to the semi-finals and the match took ages to finish. While I did win the round, the match took so long that another competitor blew past me and finished their finals match. I went home as one of the top 5 of that weekend's tournament, technically second place if I had finished my match faster than I had.

This deck's concept was the anti-meta to Haymaker decks of that era. And as I understand it, the concept became infamous in official tournaments once other players found this combo of pokemon powers.
