I dont see how this works. Sorry newbie here :/

katschem and Wert The Magikarp So Cubone's attack lets you flip a coin. If heads, you Paralyze your opponent's Active Pokemon. That means that they can't attack or retreat for 1 turn. They would need to play a switch card to get out of that. You play Will (Cosmic Eclipse) so the coin flip is always heads. With Magnezone, you can play 2 Supporter cards in a turn. So when Will (Cosmic Eclipse) is in the discard plie after you played it (the turn after), You play Lusamine (Ultra Prism) to get back another Lusamine (Ultra Prism) and a Will (Cosmic Eclipse). You keep looping this so you can paralyze every turn. Sorry it's so complicated!

OK thanks for the explanation. So how or when do you do some damage?

WafflzInTheHouse avatar

katschem No need. Paralyzing basically just stops the opponent. They eventually deck out.

Wert The Magikarp avatar

oh yeah, I got thrown by the fact the cubone was paralyzing since I thought it would be an electric type, mb. That's pretty cool though, that magnezone is like a mini Lt. Surge...

WafflzInTheHouse avatar

Wert The Magikarp If you ignore the fact that it's a stage 2, it's way better than Lt. Surge.

There's a bit of a fundamental issue in your master plan here... <95% of all  competitive Expanded decks run at least one Guzma and a couple VS Seekers, so you're hard-pressed to gain back momentum if they break out of your combo. Most of them would end up preying on your Lumineon V's and Magnezones and ruin the combo because they happen to have the out by default.

Hoopa also doesn't really serve a purpose, because practically no one uses GX's or EX's as the main attackers for their decks anymore, safe a few tech cards or backups. It doesn't work in this deck's strategy anyways, because your plan is to be attacking with Cubone evry turn anyways. It's good to have a backup plan, but you're countering the wrong things.

Wert The Magikarp avatar

Yeah but practically speaking the stage 2 aspect makes it a bit worse. Anyway im gonna get some of those magnezone for expanded for sure. Awesome card.

WafflzInTheHouse avatar

CountyGibbon798 Yeah hoopa is for stalling early game while setting up. That being said (your comment,) I figured my ace spec should be life dew and I should maybe play some night stretchers for after losing a cubone. Thx a lot for the suggestions! (and also i guess you could tell where i got this idea lol)

Wert The Magikarp avatar

WafflzInTheHouse So idk if this is a dumb question but does Hoopa's Pokemon-EX apply to the Pokemon ex we see today or no?
