This deck needs a lot of work.

I wouldn't bother with Camping Gear. You're drawing through your deck with Crobat anyways. Instead, consider Peony, Raihan, Trekking Shoes or PokeStop.

Also, Hau is a ridiculously bad supporter. I don't understand Allister either- really doesn't do much for your deck. Professors Research, Marnie, Shauna, Cynthias Ambition, Bruno are all far better options for draw supporters.

Similarly, Bede is terrible. If you need energy acceleration from the discard, you can use Dark Patch or Raihan.

Consider Radiant Alakazam (Silver Tempest) or Galarian Zigzagoon (Sword & Shield) to fix your math for Shimmering Star.

This deck is really cool, and I really like Hisuian Typhlosion VSTAR. Eric has good advice. In addition, Avery might not be a great idea, as it might allow your opponent to discard damaged benched Pokémon, or get rid of low health ones or a Crobat V or Lumenion V.

But you can search for anything with camping gear instead of drawing and hoping you get the right card

It's true, and Camping Gear could be great for a first turn when you don't attack, but if all of the professionals don't play a card, it's probably not a great idea to play this card. (Note: concepts like this are bad advice for life, however, for PTCG they're more reliable lol)

Ur_Usual_Demon46 avatar

I think Pokémon restricted it or sumtin cuz the card effect is too op

Octowen avatar

No they didn't this is the official banned cards list:

Anyway, ending your turn is a big blow in competitive play. However, if this is a casual deck that isn't really used in high-level-ish tournaments, camping gear could work great.

Camping Gear is a truly awful card.

If you wanna search your deck, use Forest Seal Stone (Silver Tempest).

Ur_Usual_Demon46 avatar

But can't you only search once tho? Cuz vstar power can only be used once. Unless when you use it it unlocks the ability and then you can use it over and over

Hella67 avatar

one doesn't end your turn and capming gear is a terrible consistency booster, also most of the supporteers here are either awful or are at bad ratios, research and other staples should be here than whatever else is here

Octowen avatar

You can only use Forest Seal Stone once, but the fact that it doesn't end your turn can help your turn flow much better.

I would recommend (if you love camping gear)

replace 2 camping gear with 2 Forest Steal Stone (that way you still have some C.G.)

replace 1 Allister and 2 Hops with Professor's Research (Brilliant Stars)

replace Dyna Tree Hill with another Old Cemetary--or replace them both with Training Court (Fusion Strike)

replace the other 2 Hops with Quick Ball (Fusion Strike) (or Nest Ball when Sc/Vi comes out)

replace Bede with another Energy retrieval

I hope this helped!

Oh, it ends your turn :p. Didn't see that....

Octowen avatar

Oooooooooooooh lol

If it didn't end your turn then it would be blindingly powerful.

I'm glad this issue has been resolved XD
