I've been doing a lot of testing with this irl and on the ladder and it's fun as hell to play. I don't have a hero's cape, but I do have the master ball so I made adjustments to the list to accommodate it, (2 forest seal stones and a town store). I can certainly hear the argument to have a hero's cape and would have to test it to see if it would make it the optimal version, but having an extra copy of nest ball essentially made sure to keep my forest seal stones always

I can certainly hear the argument to have a hero's cape and would have to test it to see if it would make it the optimal version, but having an extra copy of nest ball essentially made sure to keep my forest seal stones always alive and helped unbrick hands without supporters (which can happen). Great Tusk needs to have ancient supporters to be played in order to maximize its attack, so I only play Explorers and Vitality with 4 gears. I also don't play Comfey, Mawile, and Mimikyu because the only pokemon I ever want in the active spot is great tusk. Turns without great tusk in the active spot are turns you're not ground collapsing. I think including those Pokemon are just people trying to play Great Tusk like Snorlax, when these decks aren't at all the same. (Snorlax doesn't need to attack, Snorlax's gameplan isn't reliant on any supporters so you can play as many disruption cards as possible, and Snorlax's win con is forcing your opponent to deck themselves out rather than mill cards directly.) This deck is also pretty budget-friendly. Currently, ace specs are getting a bit pricey and though I'm hoping for a reprint soon, slightly tweaking decks to accommodate will be helpful to know in the future.
