Mega Lucario ex

Strategy

1. The Setup (Turns 1–2)

Your early game is entirely about Resource Dumping. You have 18 Basic Fighting Energy, which is significantly higher than the meta average. This is intentional to fuel your acceleration.

The Discard Engine: Use Iris's Fighting Spirit and Ultra Ball to discard Basic Fighting Energies early.

The Search: Use Fighting Gong and Urbain to find Riolu and Meditite.

Aura Jab (Turn 2): Your first priority is using Mega Lucario's Aura Jab (130 damage).

This attack allows you to take 3 Basic Fighting Energy from your discard pile and attach them to your benched attackers.

**Note**

This attack is the "heartbeat" of the deck. Without a successful Aura Jab on Turn 2, the deck lacks the energy velocity to keep up with faster 2026 decks.

2. The Mid-Game Sweep (Turns 3–4)

Once your benched Lucario or Medicham is powered up by Aura Jab, you transition to Mega Brave.

The Hammer: Mega Brave deals a massive 270 damage.

The Lockout Pivot: Since Mega Brave prevents you from attacking the following turn, you must use your 2 Switch or manual retreat (cost: [C][C]) to reset the counter. Bringing up Hawlucha or Tropius as pivot Pokémon allows you to save your Lucario for the final blow.

3. The Late-Game Clean Up

If your Mega Lucario is KO'd (giving up 3 prizes), you shift to your single-prize attackers:

Medicham

Its attack flexibility allows you to pick off damaged targets.

Bewear

Use this as a defensive wall. Its high HP and single-prize status force your opponent to take an extra turn to win, giving you time to set up a final Lucario.
