The Setup: The Seed

​Your early game is dedicated to board stabilization and energy thinning.

​Active Lead: Ideally, you start with Teal Mask Ogerpon. Use its Grass Kagura attack for just [C] to pull a Basic Grass Energy from your deck and attach it to a benched Chikorita or Bulbasaur.

​Bench Building: Use Poké Pad to search specifically for your non-Rule Box Basics. You need multiple copies of Chikorita and Bulbasaur on the bench to ensure your evolution lines aren't cut off by a single Knock Out.

​Hand Management: Use Lillie’s Determination early. Drawing 8 cards (if you have 6 prizes) is the most efficient way to find your Rare Candies and Ultra Balls.

​2. The Engine: Wild Growth

​The mid-game pivot relies entirely on Meganium hitting the board.

​Evolution Search: Use Urbain to guaranteed-search your Meganium or Mega Venusaur ex.

​The Multiplier: Once Meganium is on the bench, its Wild Growth ability makes every Basic Grass Energy count as [G][G].

​Mega Venusaur ex now only needs 2 Energy to meet its 4-energy attack cost.

​Breloom and Meganium can attack with a single energy attachment and a manual attachment.

​Energy Conservation: Because your energy is worth double, you can afford to discard extras with Iris’s Fighting Spirit to draw into your utility cards.

​3. The Finish: The Overgrowth

​Once your attackers are powered up, you focus on out-trading the opponent.

​The Wall: Mega Venusaur ex is your primary tank. Its high HP and disruptive attacks are designed to stall the opponent's momentum.

​The Glass Cannon: Breloom acts as your cleaner. If your opponent brings out a high-HP ex, Breloom can potentially one-shot it with Damage Rush while your Venusaur heals on the bench.

​Tactical Movement: Use Switch and Pokémon Catcher to manipulate the board. With Wild Growth active, paying retreat costs is cheaper, but manually switching allows you to keep all your double-value energy on the field.
