Deck Primer

Force damage onto your Opponent to do deal even more damage to them.

Strategy: I'd recommend to go second with this deck. For the Early Game when going second, start off by trying to get your board set up by getting about 2 Sprigatito's, 1 Pidgey (2 if it's against Dragapult), 1 Duskull. You should still try to get that set up if you're going first as well. Then if you're going 2nd try to see if you can item-lock them with Budew to slow them down or to use Technical Machine: Evolution to get your

Then if you're going 2nd try to see if you can item-lock them with Budew to slow them down or to use Technical Machine: Evolution to get your staged Pokémon out much more easily. Now if you're going first, avoid getting Budew down and instead just try to attach an Energy after the setting up and Pass. Moving onwards, Colress's Tenacity can help you search out for an Energy and Artazon or the ACE SPEC of choice, Grand Tree, helps you get out your Meowscarada's, Pidgeot's, or even Dusknoir. Do note that getting set up is kind of slow though so do be wary of that. Additionally, Munkidori when a Darkness Energy is attached to it can move damage off of your Pokémon onto one of your Opponent's Pokémon up to 30 Damage which can allow Meowscarada to be able to do 220 Damage to them! Furthermore, Counter Gain helps Meowscarada need a single Energy attachment to attack when you are behind on Prizes, or you can use Crispin to get a Grass and Darkness onto Meowscarada to attack or attach a Grass onto Meow, use Counter Gain, then put Darkness Energy onto Munkidori to attack much more efficiently. Pidgeot's Quick Search can help you get a card from your deck into your hand which is really nice but is kind of weaker due to the existence of Budew but you can always get our Research and get 7 new cards for a potential better hand. Also, Counter Catcher can be taken advantage of since you will most likely be behind on prizes most of the time. Additionally, you can replace Energy Retrieval with other cards such as Earthen Vessel, a 4th Arven, or Super Rod. You can also try to find a way to get a 2nd Dusknoir but I opted for 1 due to the tight space in this deck. You could also try out Jacq or the Dudunsparce Line since Pidgeot's isn't always that good in certain scenarios. Well that's about all I gotta say, so feel free to make any changes or to leave any suggestions! Have a good day!

Edits:

Edit #1: Removed 3 Energy Retrievals, Grand Tree, 1 Arven, Super Rod, 2 Grass Energy, and the 2-1-2 Pidgeot Line. They have been replaced with NUE, 1 more Night Stretcher, 1 Budew, Counter Gain, 1 more Artazon, a 4th Buddy-Buddy Poffin, Colress's Tenacity, a 4th Iono, 2nd Munkidori, 2nd Darkness Energy, and 2 Crispin.

Edit #2: Removed NUE, 1 Artazon, 2 Iono, 1 Nest Ball, TM: Evo, and 1 Dusknoir. They have been replaced with 2 Pidgey, 1 Pidgeotto, 1 Pidgeot ex, Grand Tree, and a 4th Arven. These changes proved to be much better for this list.

Edit #3: Removed Earthen Vessel for TM: Evolution. This change happened as Earthen Vessel isn't used too much and TM: Evo is still very good in this list.

Edit #4: Cut an Arven for 1 more Nest Ball as the consistency for Nest Ball isn't that great and it's also one of the only ways to get out Munkidori and Fez besides Pidgeot and Ultra Ball. I didn't want to cut the 4th Arven but it's the only card I decided to cut due to the others being much better.

Interesting list, I like how Munkidori was added in as well to be a replacement for Radiant Alakazam. Also, can you make a Quaquavel ex or either Skeledirge ex decks for Post Rotation?

LimeLemon avatar

Waffle Enthusiast Thank you for your feedback! Sure I will release both of those later today! Thank you for the suggestions as well.

Pretty good deck allround, but I personally would play Sinistcha EX over dusknoir so you have an easy way to take back energies while dealing damage.

LimeLemon avatar

KirbyWurby Thank you for your feedback, but the Dusknoir Line is here to essentially force damage onto your Opponent which can allow Meowscarada to help finish off Pokémon like Stage Two's since it'll do 220 for it having damage on it but Sinistcha isn't a bad idea since a Psyduck Card releases sometime soon which does counter Dusknoir.

Making some drastic changes to this list since it's not that good when under an item-lock.

Are you able to provide any advice as to the strategy of how to play this deck? I've been playing around with it and I feel like it takes a while to ramp up. Not sure if I've just been unlucky with card draws

LimeLemon avatar

darlomidge The cards are kind of janky and I can add more advice to the strategy. Also, I am currently testing this deck still to find a better build. This current build is just here as it's better than the previous one.

Emboar500 avatar

I feel you could use Grand Tree here.

LimeLemon avatar

Emboar500 Grand Tree was in the original build but I removed it as NUE felt quite a bit better as you only need one energy being NUE which helps Meowscarada attack for just one attachment but I'll probably test more of grand tree.

LimeLemon avatar

Further testing has concluded and I have found a much better build and it does add the Pidgeot Line and Grand Tree back.

darlomidge I hopefully have added better advice under the strategy section but the draw support still is kind of lackluster. You could try the Dudunsparce Line for better Draw Support though.
