Not bad dek but I feel like
Decidueye GX is not needed it's small amount of damage at 90 and only 2 damage all this for a cost of 2 prize this code be done with monkey dorty
nice deck
I know the Decidueye GX is a bit of a weird choice, it deals damage while on the bench without Discarding cards, requires only Grass energy, and has a GX ability which will come in handy as an additional passive ability. Most ex Pokémon have around 200-340 HP, so Decidueye isn't that bad, especially with turffield stadium.
I was thinking of maybe putting in a few rare candy just to aid in evolution speed.
I am grateful for the feed back, any other opinions would be greatly appreciated.
Ryukai92 Rare candy's would definitely help for sure. A couple things to keep in mind. Gx attacks are never passive abilities. They always count as attacks. Since this is expanded, if you want to replace Decidueye with a one prizer, I'd recommend Inteleon (Chilling Reign), as it has the same ability, gives only 10 less damage with it's attack for 2 colorless, but has less hp and no gx move. Another benefit is that it's stage 1 form, Drizzile (Sword & Shield), has a potent ability that let's you search your deck for any Trainer you want. One downside is that it isn't a grass type pokemon, though. Another potential problem I see is that Ogerpon and Meowscarada can't use special energy for their abilties, and none of your item cards can search for them either. Since this is expanded, cards like Professor's Letter (BREAKthrough) and VS Seeker are available and are generally fairly useful. I'm also a bit concerned about whether the deck can find evolutions fast enough, but I'm not too familiar with Bug Catching set so It could be fine.
You raise a very good point, I do like the look of intelion. Unfortunately, with it being a water type pokemon the change would be too much damage to consistency. The fact is costs 2 prize cards is a problem, though I am looking for a suitable Grass type which can place damage counters on benched pokemon that I can search.
As for the special energies, I was hoping the nest balls would be enough to add a small amount of consistency. I was also planning on removing one line of decidueye, dartrix, and rowlet to place in three ultra balls. This would allow for me to still search for pokémon with recovery from super rod and super energy retrieval.
If you have recommendations on the amount of each card I run or any useful trainer cards that would help search for cards more efficiently, that would be appreciated.
Ryukai92 (make sure to ping when responding). Yeah, inteleon wouldn't fit very well. If you really wanted to replace Decidueye GX, you could use Flapple (Rebel Clash), but I have no idea if it's a good card or not. Since there are only 2 pokemon in its evolution line, it'd give room for ultra balls. I think you might be a bit confused on how special energies work. Herbal Energy is ONLY a grass energy when attached to a pokemon. Therefore, even though nest ball doesn't specify whether the grass energy has to be basic or not, it can only search for basic energy (stupid old card wording). I'd ditch the special energy for 2 buddy-buddy poffins for low hp pokemon search and 2 Iono's. You'd also want to probably have 4 ultra balls, so maybe ditch a switch card and something else to get to 4.
@Fluffy Dragon I see what you mean, and I did make that mistake. So I will remove the special energies and change things up. To be honest, I was thinking about taking Decidueye out altogether and just sticking with the Meowscarada line. I'll test it with the Flapple and see how it plays before I make any permanent changes, I've just recently got hold of some Iono's and was going to run it anyway. Buddy-buddy poffin is a good call, will probably test it at 2. Ultra Balls are a must, after doing some test plays it seems it does need quite a bit more search, dropping some unneeded cards or some energies isn't too bad with the S.E.R. and Super Rod. I'll give all of this some much needed consideration when testing and will update accordingly.
Ryukai92 sounds good. I've never actually played flapple before, so I have no idea if it's good or not. Good luck with your deck building
