ok fine the actual meta deck is turbo dark, which uses GrenZoro as the primary striker. This is an optimized version (still not very good because the archetype isn't stellar compared to most other expanded decks). And during optimization, I figured that Darkrai Vstar might actually be better than GrenZoro at what it does. It has three pros and one big con:

ok fine the actual meta deck is turbo dark, which uses GrenZoro as the primary striker. This is an optimized version (still not very good because the archetype isn't stellar compared to most other expanded decks). And during optimization, I figured that Darkrai Vstar might actually be better than GrenZoro at what it does. It has three pros and one big con:

- more HP (sometimes helpful)

- gives less prizes (super good)

- has a crazy good vstar power (crazy good)

- all at the cost of being an evolution pokemon. This could pose a problem in a world without Wally, but we don't live in that world. 

The deck still has GrenZoro for when Darkrai is inconsistent.

Held away from trainer's mail just this once due to low trainer count.

Sky field is actually crazy here, fill it up with supporting pokemon and darkrai GX, then scrap the supporting pokemon when if opponent decides to rid of it to put their own stadium.

Mew is Integral if the prize trade is to be won. However, the sheer speed of the deck could mitigate the risk anyways. 

Laser is for Darkrai GX attack, or tacking on 10 damage if you need it fsr.

Pecharunt > Darkrai EX because Pecharunt works regardless of energy attached.

Funny thing is that I was just working with a Tutbo Darkrai VSTAR deck in Standard, since you can double dip with Glass Trumpet and colourless support like Squawk.

CountyGibbon798 Ye that would buff the deck, but not by a whole lot. You would need a crazy energy discard engine to get that running faster than other meta decks. Unless you can get a good 7+ energy turn two, there's no way Darkrai can do any real damage since the attachment is crazy inconsistent. Needing a tera is also such a drag. (terapagos is probably best option but by then its not a Darkrai Vstar deck anymore)

It would probably have to wait until Surging Sparks anyways so its Battle Compressor knockoff ACE SPEC can be used to discard som extra energies to turbo attach.
