Deck is intentionally pretty loose with its core strategies. Should play like an alt-meta deck or even just off-meta. Deck is mostly made for it's symbolism with only a few cards thrown in for the necessity of gameplay. Would actually rather it have that uncertain old school yugioh vibe to it then a proper meta. Intended to be paired with beginner to amateur skill level players at the table. Still I made the deck with modern 2024 standard-play in mind. As a result I felt the need to include Ionos, researchers, and xatus since psychic engines don't really better than that. Nest balls for seeking most of your set up pieces, arven for making sure cards are in your hand such as nest/ultra, earthen vessel, counter catcher and maximum belt. The stadiums are mostly ultra ball/earthen vessel fodder but could probably also be used to disrupt an opponents important gamepiece hypothetically or speed up your search power via mesagoza in a pinch. Just an idea. Double turbo to power up your Mew ex, Mewtwos or to power up radiant charizard or Xatus for less conventional knockouts but thats the infinitely funnier use so that's what I would do.

Symbolism

Mewtwo & Mew

Mewtwos are for- Mewtwo, from the movie, duh. Mew is probably a bit less obvious since mew is in not exactly on mewtwos side. Though I would argue, like many centrist, Mew is not really on anyones side. Anyways, Mew ex is here because mew and mewtwo come to an agreement of sorts at the end of the film- mewtwo only reaching his most iconic quote after learning from mew. That being a copy ultimately should not define him. Never heard a centrist say something so prevocative before about the differences in people. Anyways, so mew is there, mew alsoacts as a pretty reliable answer for a variety of decks in the TCG and has one of the best abilities in the game, but like thats completely secondary- totally!

Radiant Charizard & Clones

Radiant Charizard represents the cloned pokemon, realistically the pokeclones make up sucha big part of the prologue and the core villains of the film so they could probably get their own inspired deck. in addition the cloned pokemon are alternate colors to the traditionally made pokemon- not too disimilar to shiny pokemon. This is why I think the shiny charizard makes for a good clone stand in. It would be cool if the other main clones had cards that could be in this deck but it would just distract too much from the focus of mewtwo as an engine.

Supporters

The various researchers repressent the researchers on the island mewtwo destroys where he was cloned, bill kind of gets lumped in there but is also just there because its an old school card I think oldie gen one heads would like to see. Also pretend Jacq is a researcher too on the island, I don't know sue me. Bosses Order represents Giovani- the original evil leader of team rocket who intended to create and manipulate Mewtwo into ruling the world. Unlike in the lore Mewtwos dad is very promininent and lovinin this deck and so there are three copies of it because disruption is painful and mewtwo threw a child the way you're gonna make your opponent throw the match when they see all the epic references in your new deck (that's you, so cool). Arven is there because uh they represent the uh, main part of children mewtwo invites to his island? Sounds kinda weird like that. Anyways Iono represents the professors dead daughter Amber and the clone of his dead daughter AmberTwo.
