Welcome to the Mewtwo V Battle Deck!

In this deck you will find the Legendary Psychic-type Pokémon Mewtwo V and all its weird and wonderful friends. Mewtwo V can make huge attacks so long as you can give it the Energy it needs.

Mewtwo V is the star of the deck. It can do a whopping 160 damage every turn once it has enough Energy, but make sure you also keep Energy in your hand to replace the one it has to move to another Pokémon!

•    Feed the Moon: The Energy you move from Mewtwo must go somewhere, so move it to Lunatone if you can. Lunatone's attack gets stronger when you have more 👁 Energy on it, so keep piling it on!
•    The Old Switcheroo: Hatterene has an ability that lets you switch out your Active Pokémon without discarding Energy and forces your opponent to do the same. This can allow you to retreat a Pokémon when it's taken a lot of damage, or let you make your opponent switch out a Pokémon that is ready to attack.
•    Energy Switch: This card lets you take Energy from a badly damaged Pokémon and move it to a fresh one, and it can also help you get more Energy for Mewtwo V!

These strategies should help your Pokémon come out on top.

Upgrade your Decks!

In the box, you will find eleven additional Trainer cards to put into your decks to boost their power. Remember that a deck may only have 60 cards, so if you put a card in, you must take another card out. Here are some suggestions for cards to swap out and replace with these new Trainer cards.

•    Professor's Research (Professor Willow): Sometimes, you don't have the cards you need in your hand. Sometimes, you may just want to have new options. This card lets you discard your hand and draw 7 new cards. Be careful when you do it; the cards you discard are not coming back! This card can be added to your deck to help search for other cards that make your hand better, such as Bug Catcher or Shauna.

•    Boss's Orders (Giovanni): This card lets you choose which of your opponent's Pokémon you want to attack. It's especially useful if your opponent has retreated a damaged Pokémon to prevent a Knock Out or is hiding a Pokémon on their bench while they build up Energy on it. This card can replace Switch in your deck. You'll lose some of your ability to retreat your Pokémon, but you can guarantee which Pokémon your opponent will have in the Active Spot.

•    Rare Candy: This card helps make sure you can get your powerful Stage 2 Pokémon into play without having to worry about having the correct Stage 1 Pokémon in your hand, and without waiting for the extra turn that playing that card would take. Evolution Incense helps you evolve in similar ways, so replacing it is a natural choice; but if you want more ways to evolve your Pokémon, you could swap out Great Ball instead.

•    Egg Incubator: While this card only has a 50% chance of finding you a Pokémon (and that Pokémon must be a Basic Pokémon), it does work to find your Basic Pokémon V, which is an amazing advantage and well worth considering for your deck. Swap out Great Ball for this card to find your Pokémon V faster.

•    Lure Module: The game is all about Pokémon, and this card can get you out of a jam if you haven't been drawing the cards you need as it can find up to three Pokémon from the top of your deck. Additionally, it's not a Supporter card, so you can play it and another Trainer card. Consider swapping out Bug Catcher if you want to make sure you have enough Pokémon on hand.
