Deck Primer

This is by far the deck I have spent the most testing on before releasing it. This deck has taken me like 2 weeks to test out to finally get this build.

Strategy: As always for my other Miraidon builds, go second with this deck and get Joltik into the Active to then use its attack to set up your Pokémon like Pikachu or Iron Hands. This deck is kind of fast paced to use after you use Joltik and you can take advantage of using the Grass Galvantula since you play Joltik so you can basically OHKO

This deck is kind of fast paced to use after you use Joltik and you can take advantage of using the Grass Galvantula since you play Joltik so you can basically OHKO Zard and Farigiraf ex. Miraidon can be used to ensure a KO when needed, Bloodmoon as always is a game ender for the Late Game. Lillie's Clefairy ex is great in the other build I made but here it's just as great too, it replaces Raikou V like previously stated and can OHKO Pult and Raging Bolt along with the other Dragon Pokémon. Maractus helps if you need to slow down the game, and the ACE SPEC of choice, Prime Catcher helps you bring up a Pokémon of yours and Gust up on of your Opponent's. Pokégear is really useful as you can search for Boss, Arven, or Crispin and speaking of Crispin, it allows you to set up your board efficiently. Earthen Vessel helps you get your Energy in hand for later purposes. 2 Bravery Charm's are here as it's really good in this list and Rescue Board gives Free Retreat to Galvantula. Switch helps out if Latias is prized or if you get trapped into the Active. No Electric Generator's are here as they aren't needed since it's relying on Joltik to do the job. The Magnezone Line does work pretty well but is not necessarily needed. Also, there are 2 Pikachu's as it focuses on Pikachu as a Main Attacker which can KO many Stage 2's thanks to Gravity Mountain! This may be better than the previous build but that's debatable. FBEC helps increase Iron Hands's damage output making Arm Press do 180 or Amp You Very Much do 140 which is quite helpful. Do note that a weakness of this deck is you may often find yourself having small hands so adding in about 2 Professor's Research isn't a bad idea.

Matchups:

Do note that Miraidon's odds will be on the right side of the backslash (/). (An example: 30/70 and the side with the 70 is Miraidon's).

Zard: So, previously on my 2nd Miraidon Build (that I'll probably play more than this one) had a fairly matchup with Zard but now, you can use Galvantula to OHKO Zard which puts this into your favor a bit more. Overall odds are about a 45/55 as Zard can still pull off insane attacks.

Pult: Basically try to use Joltik to set up Hands or Pikachu and get Clefairy set up as soon as possible to take advantage of the added weakness to Pult. Bravery Charm should also go onto Clefairy to survive a Phantom Dive. Though, Clef can be difficult at times to set up and Pult nukes Joltik and some other Pokémon. Overall odds are a 45/55.

Archaludon ex: Be careful with Joltik in the Active against the Poison Box Build, besides that it's the same strategy as mentioned on the 2nd Build. Zacian does nuke Joltik and Dubwool is quite annoying also use Pikachu as the attacker as it is required to win. I don't have much more to say besides be careful with Clef, and the overall odds for the Poison Box is now a 58/42 and Hop's Zacian is a 45/55.

Gardy: Basically a free win for you so just take out their One Prize Attackers, use Pika to one shot Gardy with Gravity Mountain slowing them down a bit. If they run N's Zoroark that's just a free 2 Prizes with Galvantula. Overall odds for either Build are a 20/80.

N's Zoroark ex: Same strategy but use Galvantula or Pika to take out Zoroark and target their benched attackers. Overall odds are about a 50/50.

Raging Bolt ex: The same strategy as listed on the 2nd Build, besides Magnezone being excluded from it. Pika deals with either build and Miraidon can just OHKO Teal Madl Oger. Clef can be quite hard to get set up at times and Joltik is only really good if they brick. Overall odds are about a 45/55 for both builds.

Gholdengo ex: Pikachu can OHKO any of their Pokémon but be careful if they have Dudunsparce ex and do try to KO it as soon as you can. The Pult Build is kind of wack plus you can just OHKO Pult with clef. Dudunsparce Build odds are a 45/55 and the Pult Build is a 40/60.

Wall Deck: Bascially Hands deals with Cornerstone, Miraidon or Hands deals with Milotic, and Galvantula deals with Mimikyu and Farigiraf. This matchup is more favorable than the previous 2. Overall odds is about a 40/60.

Terabox: Still a fun matchup and the same strategy as listed on the other builds. Wellspring is a free 2 Prizes, Teal Mask gets OHKO'd by Miraidon or Clef if the board is set up quite a bit. Terapagos can be dealt with by Pikachu or Lillie's Clef and Cornerstone can be dealt with by Hands. Overall odds are about a 45/55 don't underestimate Terabox though as it can still be quite powerful.

Terapagos ex: Overall a fun matchup but use something like Clef to deal with Terapagos and try to KO their Curly Wall Pokémon. Overall odds are about a 50/50.

Feraligatr: Quite an easy matchup and Mimikyu gets dealt with by either Mew's Genome Hacking or Galvantula. Overall odds are about a 5/95 as they're weak to this deck.

Froslass Box: Amp You Very Much OHKO's everything and avoid putting much Ability Pokémon in play. The overall odds are about a 10/90.

Koraidon ex: As stated before, this matchup will probably never happen. If it's the Dragon Type version which is by far the best variant of Koraidon, you just do the same thing like the 2nd Strategy says like Clef just OHKO's them. Overall odds for the Dragon Type version is a 30/70 and if they for some reason play the Fighting Type version is about a 40/60.

Edits:

Edit #1: Removed a Lightning Energy, and Area Zero Underdepths for a 5th Grass Energy, Powerglass, and a 3rd Pokégear. These changes happened as they helped out a lot more in testing.

Edit #2: Cut switch for Iron Leaves ex despite disliking Iron Leaves. This change occurred happened as at times in testing Iron Leaves can help end the game and finish off Pokémon. This change was kind of suggested by @Waffle Enthusiast.

Edit #3: Removed Iron Leaves ex again along with Powerglass. They have been replaced with an Iono and a 4th Crispin. These are much needed changes that made it much better.

Edit #4: Removed Defiance Band, 1 Pokégear, and Counter Catcher. They have been replaced with 2 Gravity Mountains and FBEC. These changes occurred due to it being quite effective in testing.

Edit #5: Removed 1 Gravity Mountain, and Iron Bundle. They have been replaced with 1 more Pokégear and Galvantula ex.

Edit #6: Cut 1 Pokégear and Galvantula ex. They've been replaced with a 4th Boss and a Maractus.

The testing was pretty long for this deck but I finally managed to come up with a good Build for it.

Waffle Enthusiast avatar

LimeLemon Interesting list, but wouldn't Iron Leaves ex help out like the other builds with Joltik people used?

LimeLemon avatar

Waffle Enthusiast Thank you for your feedback! Though, I tried to make Iron Leaves ex work but it just didn't, it felt really horrible in the deck and ended up being a bit of a Liability. Sure the ability is nice to help finish off Pokémon but it's just not that great.

SaltyW avatar

Probably don't need area zero underdepths. Don't know what I would take it out for though, this is very well built. Love your decks

LimeLemon avatar

SaltyW Sorry for the delayed response, but Lillie's Clefairy ex does more damage thanks to Area Zero Underdepths but it isn't nessecarily needed, you can cut them out it you want for something else like a 4th Crispin and FBEC (Future Booster Energy Capsule) to do a bit more damage with Iron Hands. Also, thank you for your feedback!

So if you look at matchups on trainerhill.com, they actually tell a different story.

New Matchups:

As like LimeLemon did, I will put the matchup for Joltik box on the other side of the backslash. eg: 20/80 is 80 for Joltik box.

I will simply include the ones that are worth note.

Raging Bolt: Yes, Joltik may outpace Bolt when they brick, but the same can happen to you. Lille's Clefairy is actually difficult to set up sometimes. The odds are actually in favor of Bolt at ~45/55

Archaludon: Poison Box can hit so hard on Joltik and Galvantula and Archaludon can wall Miraidon so badly. A Scoop Up and the game could be over. Zacian snipe can nuke Joltik and Galvantula and is dangerous if you brick. Normal is alright, but it is hard to hit at times. If they can wall you and keep scooping up something, you're in trouble. Pikachu must be prioritized. Poison: 58/42. Zacian: 55/45. Normal: 45/55

Also, Flareon ex has not been considered yet, but the matchup is alright.

Dragapult Dusknoir actually nukes Joltik Box. Matchup is around 65/35.

Emboar500 I apologize for the odds being odd I just did that from my oberalll experience but I'll update them to be more accurate so thank you for pointing that out.

LimeLemon avatar

Update: Despite me disliking Iron Leaves ex it's still decent in this deck so I suppose I'll be adding it back in.

LimeLemon avatar

Update: Going to add in Galvantula ex as I did a lot testing with it and it helped out quite a bit.
